Up until this week, my fibre has always been stable and on (through UPS) throughout load shedding. From this week, the connection drops within seconds of load shedding starting - the router and ONT are both powered throughout - lights on, just no data. Same as my mobile phone - connects to a...
Has anyone noticed that appointments alerts do not always activate when you are on time zone support (i.e. travelling). I tested this on my 3GS and ipod 3G, so i know its not one faulty device - must be a fault in IOS 4
I have a 3GS and my wife a 3G. IOS is great for the 3GS, but i would caution 3G owners unless they want the camera zoom and the folders. IOS 4 is very slow on a 3G
when i did my upgrade it prompted me to download these additional carrier settings. try rechecking the following:
settings>network>cellular data network> that your APN is set to iphone.vodacom.co.za (no user name or password).
You can also try reset these settings in this screen
So far skype and News24 are not working properly on IOS 4. Anyone having the same issues?
Also has anyone noticed a drop in performance on 3G's? My 3GS works great, but 3G seems sluggish.
Lastly, old wallpapers have gone - anyone know where to redownload these?
I can tell you i have had both (BB and iPhone 3G)- if you are going onto BB BIS, wait for iPhone - its 100 times more user friendly and efficient - you can sync contacts, calendars and all mail (including subfolders with the iPhone but only your exchnage inbox on BB BIS. BES is a different...
I would have thought that that the ethical annd correct thing to do in the case, considering who Voadcom is, is to have an update or status window on their website - not too much to ask. Their attitude stinks though. Their way or F.O.
@ocleroux - my upgrade was done through the call centre - 1959. I have several sms messages from vodacom saying i have been upgraded and my packaged changed. Vodacom4me confirms this. Plus, i m apaying for an iPhone 500 contract (my previous contract was a Blackberry contract). No question that...
@CharlC - thing is, in most other places in the world, the operators tell you there is a shortage before you sign up. They also have far better public information. On Vodacoms site there is no mention of stock shortages - its as it has been from when the phone first launched.
@FaNIX - yes - bacause you do the upgrade deal and are told the phone will be available within 4-5 days - i would never have anticipated waiting this long - and they continue to advertise it
have a look at "iphone" on hellopeter - there are so many frustrated people and Vodacom has such a bad attitude. Interestingly enough, its the same copy and paste answer to all the complaints.
