    I am in Cape Town, and it was quite warm on Saturday. And that is exactly my concern, maybe the engine has been worked on which could explain the oil on the tappet cover... And I really like this car, its the 1.6 16v SE model :(

    Just remembered something else I noticed, drove the car for about 15 minutes, but there were only 2 bars on the temperature Guage... surely should have reached normal operation temperature or is 2 bars the normal temperature?

    Just an update, so I went to test drive another Corolla. Revs were about 600 - 800rpms. Battery was dead, car had to be jumped, and it also had the fluctuating revs when headlights were on. My theory is that the batter is low, and headlights are drawing more power, so the fluctuating Revs? It...

    Thanks, Champ. The AC sound is very distinct, almost like the sound you hear when reversing... The salesman says he's booked it in for inspection in their workshop, and they will advise on the ac and oil leak. I'm just worried they just wash the engine and say they have fixed it.
