I have the A7G from 2021 and it was a great buy. The size is magnificent. The picture is very good, supports Dolby Vision. Sport is very immersive, though you get the usual lags with fast action. Not a train smash for me, though. If you’re looking for a massive tv with very good picture, then...

Get the 85 inch. You won’t regret it.

The decoder, fibre router and ONT is plugged in but the load shows zero when it’s just these. Plug the tv into mains without switching it on with the remote (standby) and it jumps to 140+. When the tv is on it hits 330+. So maybe the tv is not pulling the full 140+ watts in standby but it’s...

My inverter shows it’s using around 150w in standby during load shedding. I wonder if there’s an issue with the tv or a setting I’m not aware of but I couldn’t find any. Or maybe even an issue with the inverter, but I doubt that. Is there another way to check power usage in standby mode?

I have the 85A7G so can’t speak for the U7H, but what I can I say is that the 85 inch size is a power hungry monster. It is rated 320 watts and it really uses that much per hour. If you have a trolley inverter you won’t get much use out of the tv during load shedding and this version of VIDAA...

Agreed. I kept my 85 inch box for almost a year but eventually threw it out because the space required to keep it is insane. I was prioritising space for the box over other things and then realised it was stupid. If Hisense wants me to keep the box they better pay for storage ;-)

Looks like they aren’t selling the 55/65 inch C2 in SA and are replacing it with a frankenstein version made up of C2 and C1 parts. It should still be decent enough but, once again, the South African market is being fed the leftovers. Haven’t checked but you likely won’t find a review online...

Should be an LG panel right? So 15k less than a c2 65inch on special. Even allowing for the likelihood that the LG chip is probably better, it’s very good.

1 left at 25k. Wow! Didn’t even expect that on Black Friday.

If this dips to 25k by Black Friday it might be a steal. Even under 30k i would make it interesting.
