    Thanks for all the feedback and sorry for the delayed reply. I ended up going the route of washing the walls and gave it a light sanding with 120 grid. It has been close to an year now and all is still fine. So in the event someone else is in the same situation, this worked for me.

    The least reliable car I have ever owned, but also the most fun. 1985 RX7 13B Rotary (series 5 engine) with Mr Turbo EFI. It made 178kw on 0.5 Bar and extremely heavy on fuel. I should add, this was not a daily and when I drove it, I drove it to enjoy it. Skip to 03:50 for donuts
