Xiaomi Expensive Now?

what i noticed with mine was after the last 2 updates this week if you were searching on a site for something and you tried to delete a word etc in search it would freeze ,if you went out of browser and back in you could delete letters etc .

I have never owned a Xiaomi and I have never used WebAfrica, but both of them have enough complaints threads on this forum that most of us knows to stay far away.

If you search the web, you can find hate threads and cautions against virtually every brand. I also remember the "Idiotphone" references.

I'm just chiming in, I have a Poco (Xiaomi) F3 which I got last year for only R5500, and it's been my best value buy ever. Love the screen and snappy performance, and it's still holding up nicely today.

Had a couple xiaomi, no complaints, I am now looking at poco x4 gt, with a dimensity 8100 soc at a mid range price, very hard to beat that spec in terms of value for money

Rocking a POCO F4 for a few months now. Had Pixels and Oneplus's for a while. Solid device for the money this F4.
Only thing a don't like is the MIUI File manager. Updates are lil slow too.

Where did you get it? Been searching everywhere for the F3 as the F4 is basically the same phone with a sightly updated body. Don't think it's worth that upgrade

I got my one about 18 months ago in the UK (around 260 pounds back then for the 6gb/128gb version).

also buying a new phone this week .my experience with chinese phones hasnt been good as epah says buy a decent phone (iphone ie most things work )or buy a Korean made phone .for me i dislike Samsungs system so i also havent a clue as to what to buy .i use ipads but dislike iphone .was waiting for the TCL but im again hesitant to go chinese .for the record my note 11 pro has now been lost .on purpose .

umm, Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi are all Chinese/Korean phones.

Some of you haven't priced or checked specs on Samsung and Xiaomi phones recently. Things have changed drastically. Xiaomi isn't the cheapest anymore especially in SA.

The way Xiaomi names their devices in different markets is also very confusing.

Mia Africa vs Connected Devices.

Same phones
Same processors
Different names
And added junk that probably isn't selling at Mia. Screenshot_20230609_073036_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20230609_072942_Chrome.jpg

I think the average consumer probably isn't aware how underspeced and overpriced devices are now.

Oppo uses kak processors for the price.

Huawei and Honor are selling 6-7k devices with Snapdragon 680

Honor and Huawei are selling phones over 10k with Snapdragon 778g processors.

Basically we are getting forked locally and Samsung is beginning to look competitive when you compare specs and software support vs other android manufacturers.

If I had to choose based on processor my picks are :

Below 3k : redmi 10c ( Snapdragon 680)
Below 4.5k :Samsung A24 with free buds live(Mediatek G99)

Below 5k : Samsung A52s(Snapdragon 778g)
Incredible connection and hifi Corp sometimes have stock.

6-7k : Samsung A34 (dimensity 1080)

We aren't exactly spoilt for choice cos the pricing is so ridiculous in SA.
