ive never used one before .rest of the family swear by them .ive only used iphone and lg phones for the last 13 years at least ,before that only palm products .loved my palm pilot

I had the G3, G6 and G7. The G6 was the best by far.

Due to their age, they're just becoming a bit underspecced, but they're awesome phones. Especially the displays.
 
I'm an iPhone man & so might be a tad out of depth here but I'm of the view the non-flagship Xiaomi phones were cheap for a reason: built to a cost, cheaper camera components, vibration motors etc.

That's before we talk about the kark SW longevity & the SW experience itself, the ads (esp in developing markets).

You get what you pay for & these days you pay more.
 
I've been using the POCO M4 Pro LTE for almost 6 months now and it's an incredible phone for the price. Battery life is amazing and can last two days with moderate to heavy usage. Build quality is great, my kid throws it around and it's lived through a few accidental drops and it still looks new. I'm not a huge fan of the MIUI app drawer and the camera could be better (it's good, but it's no iPhone). Quite honestly unless you're prepared to spend over R10k on a phone you probably won't find anything better.
 
My Redmi 9T is coming up for its 2 year bday. Battery still lasts 2 days no problem. I've dropped it a bunch of times once from above the ceiling as it fell from my pocket onto the concrete garage floor. The screen has some scratches as I just pulled the screen protector when it got old and never replaced it.

I did go with a custom ROM from new as I'm not a fan of the MIU.

Well hatred and knowing shyte quality is two different things.
People did not just start to say a Chery Tiggo is a shyte car, after people bought one and we all saw them falling apart after 5000km, we decided we will never buy that junk.
I have never owned a Xiaomi and I have never used WebAfrica, but both of them have enough complaints threads on this forum that most of us knows to stay far away.
