Yes that is true, but to say solar is an investment with a ROI in SA today is false. There is no such thing as investing in SA today. There is a new energy state capture happening, and they will be taking from solar owners, because who else do they take from?Who gives a **** - when you sit crying in the dark, we have power.
Been thinking about doing biomass based diesel, any voluntary donations will be welcome.Good for a loot...
Unless you mistake me for Steve Hofmeyer - I don't have any.Your kids`
Rather be buying an army to protect your bunker.Been thinking about doing biomass based diesel, any voluntary donations will be welcome.
You are not Steve??!Unless you mistake me for Steve Hofmeyer - I don't have any.
How are you consuming more than 100 kwh/day and, better question, how is that system generating more than 100 kwh/day?Not really

Don't insult Steve. You are not Steve??!![]()
I installed 2021 and my system went live the day loadshedding started indef - I got loads of comments that loadshedding would never be "that" bad but everyone who commented is desperately trying to get sorted now.Last year when the first wave of stage 6 loadshedding ended in July we had solar installed. All my friends and colleagues full of hopeium mocked me and said well thats the lowest of the lowest eskom would go and that government will intervene. They all believed that loadshedding will be a thing of the past by December 2022.
I had to endure conversations of how I've just spent 200k on a system, wasted a **** ton of money and the usual mock about solar tax that will be introduced on residential homes with solar.
Most of these people drive vehicles worth in excess of over 750k but will not spend 110k or more on a backup system that ultimately reduces eksdom dependance.
They don't even flinch spending 100k extra on a more expensive vehicle that drinks fuel like my Alcoholic Step brother consumes beer.
Some of these "Mockers" even use my study as a mobile office when the power is out.
Anyone on here that had solar installed last year experience the same ?
I concur simply impossible. How are you consuming more than 100 kwh/day and, better question, how is that system generating more than 100 kwh/day?
The were laughing at you because they don't have to spend the money while crashing at your place.Oh, absolutely not! . Clearly you were just impressed with my mental prowess and wanted to challenge me to a friendly game of mental gymnastics. How silly of me to think they were mocking me! I'll make sure to bring my A-game so I can give them a run for their money. After all, nothing says "mental superiority" like engaging in petty online competitions, right?
@purple face creating more accounts.I have never heard of anyone mocked for solar. Yes, there are dissenters, but it is usually the hopeful being in the belief that loadshedding will soon be over. There are suburbs in my valley which looks like Christmas trees when the lights are out. Adoption can't be faulted by anyone.
Something tells me that this thread is a carrot for attention.

Maybe if you don't walk around thinking you better than them while having emotional breakdowns they might stop laughing. If it allows them to continue working, keeping their online businesses afloat and feeding their families sure why not. I'll endure the laughing behind my back.
