Being mocked for having solar.

a lot of my customers are top earners and company directors ,spend money on solar ? , not a chance , a few have 1kw inverters with a battery just for lights , most dont give a sh9t about it .

Some of them rent in areas that doesn't get loadshedding. So maybe they think it won't affect them...

Almost like they forgot about that aspect.

A funny one is the sea water got cold in our area, produced thick mist for days along the coast

I guess eskom was the savior for many peeps at that time.

we have had 340mm rain in a 10 days, virtually zero sun,Lethabo is allmost submerged along with all in the vaal ,my 2 solar geysers are still running at over 55 deg without an issue ,i havent used much power on a geyser at all for many years now .maybe 3 nights in total last year .

I dont get as we are on an independant driven grid so to me its foreign , but mostly all my customers get .i think the ones in Cape T get it the worst .

dont use batteries on my geysers .they are evacuated tubes and incredibly efficient , made in France. driving a geyser with batteries must be the most inefficient way to heat water
,and a battery killer .

Most of these people drive vehicles worth in excess of over 750k but will not spend 110k or more on a backup system that ultimately reduces eksdom dependance.
They don't even flinch spending 100k extra on a more expensive vehicle that drinks fuel like my Alcoholic Step brother consumes beer.

Some of these "Mockers" even use my study as a mobile office when the power is out.

Anyone on here that had solar installed last year experience the same ?

That because those people don't actually have cash sitting around, most likely busy paying off a sizeable monthly premium for their vehicle finance.

Not in the same way, the debate normally goes to pay back period and generators being 'cheaper', asking them how much their generator pays them back or how relevant pay back is when you haven't had electricity for a few days ends the debate.
