The Proteas - Our Team!

Kudos to David Miller and the rest of the boys who have put country above IPL franchise, much to the chagrin of the Gujarat TItans management (in Miller's case). They will be part of the SA squad to face the Netherlands in what is a crucial series in terms of CWC qualification.

He misses just one game of the IPL maybe 2, so didn't have to sacrifice too much.

It's not by choice. CSA has refused to release them for IPL duty until the Netherlands series is complete.

Moseki do you really think fans are able to show up for tests starting during work hours on a Tuesday and Wednesday.
Little fact about the white ball games, they are played after work.
But then you probably didn't even know you could play pink tests and actually get people in after work...

He's partly right but thats no excuse since future tests were decided before the WI tour.

Historically attendances for Tests in SA has been poor. Time to start thinking out the box like day/night tests and see if workdays is an issue.

If I'm not mistaken we'd get 5 points for a no result. Two no results puts us level on points with WI. Who qualifies if we're level on points?

The side with the better nrr. 2 washouts gives sri lanka and Ireland decent chances.

Sri Lanka has one game left against NZ. I'd be surprised if they win that as they've been hammered all series, but it's possible. That would put them on 91 (81 if they lose).

Ireland are on 68. They'd need to win at least two of their three games away against Bangladesh. That's not happening.

If we only win one game (or two no results) we'll be level on points with WI but with a superior NRR.

All in (barring two losses against Ned), we should just about scrape in.
