Lamborghini Revuelto

Lamborghini Revuelto Sold Out For More Than Two Years

At this stage, pricing has not been revealed.

Lamborghini only took the covers off the all-new V12 super sports car the Revuelto yesterday but the CEO Stephan Winkelmann has confirmed it is sold out for now.

The Lamborghini boss told journalists at a preview event for the Revuelto in Italy there’s already massive demand for the new flagship.

“We already have a high demand,” Winkelmann said. “If you put all the orders in we are seeing today, we are already exceeding two years of ordering.”

Winkelmann was quick to point out that most order-holders had little to no info on the car before putting their names down.

The First Electric Lamborghini Will Be A 2+2 Grand Tourer

In an interview published last week, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann confirmed that their first fully electric offering will be an all-new 2+2 Grand Tourer.

Winkelmann mentioned earlier in March that they were planning to release the brand’s first electric car in 2028, positioning it as a totally new, fourth model in the lineup. Previously, rumours suggested the Italian supercar’s first EV would be a crossover but that is not the case.

“It’s going to be a new body style, because what is missing in the lineup today is a GT 2+2, and I think this would be a good add-on to the two super-sports cars and the SUV,” Winkelmann told Motor1.

The super-sports cars he mentioned are of course the brand-new Revuelto and the upcoming replacement to the Huracán which is set for reveal next year.

Under the skin: The genius of the Lamborghini Revuelto's gearbox

How lamborghini's lightweight, pre-selecting transmission forms part of its new flagship's hybrid system

ince they hit the mainstream in the early 2000s, dual-clutch transmissions (DCTs) have travelled a long a curious curve of driver acceptance.

Initial joy that they were so much more compelling than the torque-converter slushers and automated manuals they replaced eventually gave way to a yearning for manuals as the novelty wore off.

However, it’s hard to imagine Lamborghini’s new LB744 plug-in hybrid hypercar being fitted with anything else.

Developed at Sant’Agata but doubtless drawing on the wider Volkswagen Group’s huge experience with DCT technology, Lamborghini’s eight-speed “double-clutch” transmission (so many different names for the same thing) is completely new and developed especially for the LB744.

Breaking with Lamborghini’s tradition of mainly longitudinal engines and forward-facing gearboxes, the LB744 is powered by what might be described as a T-drive, with a longitudinal engine coupled to a transverse gearbox behind it. What would’ve been the transmission tunnel ahead of the battery is occupied by a small (3.8kWh) drive battery.

All DCTs work on the principle of splitting gear ratios between separate shafts within the gearbox. Longitudinal gearboxes might have two shafts, whereas those designed to fit in the compact spaces of front-wheel-drive cars, like Volkswagen’s DSG ’boxes, might have three. Despite the transverse mounting of Lamborghini’s unit, the design is able to stick to two, no doubt because of the car’s width.

Lamborghini Revuelto In Verde Shock Spotted On The Road

Lamborghini took the covers off the highly-anticipated Aventador replacement now known as the Revuelto last month and now we get our first look at the new V12 super sports car on the road in Italy.

YouTuber Varryx patiently waited outside the gates of the factory before this vivid example hit the streets on what looks like Verde Shock paint (matte lime green).

Unfortunately, the car was in the electric mode so we did not get to hear the new 6.5-litre V12 but we do get to hear the futuristic artificial noises it makes. This noise is mandatory for hybrids and EVs in many parts of the world to alert pedestrians about its presence.

Lambos needs a wing ffs. IT's just in the DNA ala Countach.

Lamborghini Revuelto Pricing for South Africa

Back in March, Lamborghini took the covers off their all-new V12-powered supercar called the Revuelto and if you have not placed your order for one by now, you will be waiting a very long time.

As the car was revealed, Lamborghini confirmed that the car was “sold out for more than two years” but how much will you need to part with to park this Sant’Agata Bolognese beast in your garage?

We can confirm that base pricing (at the time of writing) is R12,395,000so with a decent spec added on we would assume a list price of around R15 million.

As a reminder, the Revuelto packs a new 6.5-litre V12 engine which is supplemented by three electric motors to punch out 1,001 hp. This grunt is sent to all four corners via a new eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and an all-electric mode is available.
