DMC Turn Visual Drama Up On Lamborghini Revuelto

Lamborghini is yet to deliver a single one of their new Revuelto V12 hybrid supercars but the aftermarket companies are wasting no time in coming up with new offerings for the very lucky future owners.

Well-known German tuner DMC has been rapid to share their take on the flagship Lamborghini and although they admit it is a “superb looking car” they believe it “can look a little tame”.

In order to rectify that, they are going to be offering a kit to make the car look a lot more aggressive while allegedly improving airflow and increasing downforce.

Starting at the front you will see a new splitter with side fins as well as a new scoop on the bonnet and some vented fenders.

At the rear, you will find more dramatic changes including a fully-redesigned rear bumper and an enormous swan-neck design rear wing. They did design a slightly more subtle option which looks just like the one found on the Aventador SVJ.

Revealed as recently as March 2023, the new Lamborghini Revuelto is on its way to South Africa, boasting a total system power output as lofty as 747 kW and a top speed in excess of 350 kph. Keen to know how much the Sant’Agata Bolognese-based firm’s first V12 plug-in hybrid super sports car will cost you? Well, wonder no more…

Thanks to our astute colleagues over at duoporta.com, we have confirmation the Revuelto – which bears the LB744 designation and effectively replaces the Aventador – will kick off at a cool R12 800 000, which includes the Italian automaker’s standard 3-year DrivePlan. Opting for the 5-year DrivePlan, meanwhile, will push the starting price to R13 000 000. Regardless, it’s the most expensive model in the current Lamborghini stable (and a shade more than even the Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster cost).

The wing is a Lambo thing dating back to the Countach. No way should it go, if anything it looks too reserved without it. Lambos are not about being reserved...
 
DMC’s bodykit for the Lamborghini Revuelto is… interesting

For those that absolutely must have a spoiler on their V12 Lamborghini

Does German tuner DMC have listening devices planted in the Top Gear office? You see, having seen the Lamborghini Revuelto in person at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last week, there were some (who shall remain nameless for their own safety) who were critical of the latest V12 Lambo for lacking visual drama.

Having had those discussions (yeah okay, some might call them arguments), just a week later we spot DMC’s stick-on bodykit for the Revuelto. Coincidence? We think not.

And yet, we’re not sure this is exactly how we’d add drama. The front lip spoiler bits are fairly subtle and cool, and you get some fun-looking side blades in bare carbon poking out of the sills. But once you’re round the back things all get a little silly – just look at that monster rear wing. It’s a full carbon creation and uses swan-neck stands, but it certainly looks a little incongruous up there and will look even more odd when the Revuelto’s active aero is doing its thing. Plus did the Revuelto really need a bigger diffuser?

Anyway, if you absolutely must have a wing on your big V12-engined (hybrid) Lambo, then this is one. The full kit isn’t cheap though – to have it in prepeg carbon fibre will cost you just over £31,000, or for Mansory’s favourite forged carbon look it’s nearly £39,000. Ouch.

Barely months after it was launched, orders have stacked up for Lambo’s hybrid hypercar

The outgoing Aventador was the most successful V12-engined Lamborghini ever sold. More than 11,000 hypercars were shifted over its lifetime, more than double the Murcielago and more than all of the previous V12s combined.

Its successor then, looks to be off to an equally strong start. News arrives of the hybrid Lamborghini Revuelto’s first few months in this world, and apparently orders for the new bull already cover two years of production.

Production which Lamborghini is keen to point out involves human hands at every stage. “Each individual station of the Revuelto line is distinguished by its high-tech impact which, as always at Lamborghini, supports – and never replaces – the indispensable work of humans,” the company said.

Mention is made of Lamborghini’s COBOTS – ‘collaborative robots’ – performing repetitive tasks overseen by human eyes, which – says Lambo – helps remove inaccuracies and errors. At least until these 'cobots' decide to rise up and enslave us all, but that’s for another day.

The new 1000bhp Lamborghini Revuelto, the long-awaited successor to the Aventador, has already sold out until 2026, according to company boss Stephan Winkelmann.

The firm’s maiden plug-in hybrid supercar, originally codenamed LB744, is the most potent Lamborghini in the car maker’s history and it delivers some eye-watering numbers from its new 6.5-litre V12 powerplant: 2.5sec 0-62mph, sub-7.0sec 0-124mph and a top speed of more than 217mph.
