Lamborghini has not only embraced the complexity of hybrid, but mastered it. The Revuelto never feels anything less than natural to drive. And deeply exciting. The noise and drama from the 6.5-litre V12 is undimmed, the hybrid is only there to support and encourage the best from that masterpiece of an engine.

There’s a level of refinement to the Revuelto that we haven’t previously seen from Lamborghini, it’s a more harmonious car, the suspension is smoother, it’s friendlier to drive. It’s also bigger inside, with better seats (finally!) and actual useful cubbies and load bays. It’s much more practical than an SF90.

Lamborghinis often seem to be looking backwards, pining for the glory days of yore. But here’s one that looks forwards and embraces the future with gusto. Yeah, it’s only got a small battery, electric range is limited, and it’s not doing anything that other brands haven’t already done. But it shines a light down the path for other Lamborghinis to follow. As well as proving that charisma doesn’t have to be dimmed by hybridity. Way to go, Lambo.

It was even launched in Vice City – sorry, Miami. Coincidence? Well, absolutely, but…

Lamborghini has a revealed a one-off version of its new V12 hybrid replacement for the Aventador, and it is thus: meet the new Infernus Opera Unica! No, wait. Meet the new Lamborghini Revuelto Opera Unica!

It’s a one-off art car designed by Lamborghini’s in-house ‘Ad Personam’ team and executed by Centro Stile, though it very well could have been ripped straight out of Grand Theft Auto VI’s code.

Even more fittingly, it was launched in Miami, satirised in the blockbuster game series as Vice City. Mere coincidence this was launched in the same week we saw the first GTA VI trailer...

Anyway, the car. It took 76 hours of development and 435 hours’ worth of hand painting to achieve the rather striking finished product. Lambo tells us the Opera Unica features a broad palette of colours with brushstroke details of warm and cool colours. There’s also an anniversary logo on the bonnet, naturally.

Lamborghini's all-new Telemetry X system, revealed at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, sounds like the perfect opportunity to share your terrible track prowess and worsening heart rate with your mates.

It combines something called 'Real Time Remote Garage' with a 'Biometric Data System', the latter sussing out your stress levels, the former monitoring your track heroics/massive offs by a coach who can see your data live and provide real-time feedback. Things could get... shouty.

Both work with the creatively named 'Digital Co-Pilot'. It's a voice assistant that'll analyse vehicle and driver data from the other two and (more constructively) provide tips to improve performance while you throw the car around the track. Nice.

Lambo said the Telemetry X package has been tested on the Revuelto, following the integration of connected telemetry features in the Huracan STO back in 2020. The aim of the data suite is to ensure drivers, among other things of course, have fun.
