China - Taiwan Developments

damn right, hence the conditions for a free and fair referendum on the topic will never exist, China would sooner go to war than to allow it, checkmate
I never claimed that the people of Taiwan will definitely be able to make that decision; rather, I simply expressed my hope that they would be able to.

The US maintains that it does not support Taiwan's independence, and its policy towards Taiwan is based on the "One China" principle.
you might want to look at actions rather than empty words, diplomatic visits to some "province" of another sovereign are hardly acceptable

not to mention they have outright stated they will come to Taiwan's aid if they need military defense

all those "freedom of navigation" exercises are certainly meant to send a message, and the message is not that the US navy just loves the scenery of that patch of ocean so much they sail there all the time ...

United States maintains that it is not taking sides in the Taiwan issue and is merely fulfilling its obligations under the Taiwan Relations Act to help Taiwan maintain its self-defense capability. The United States has also argued that it has a stake in maintaining peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, and that any escalation of tensions over Taiwan could have far-reaching consequences for regional security.

help Taiwan maintain its self-defense capability
that is none of USA's business, especially given that they are talking about Taiwan defending itself against China ... so much for that one China principle

USA argues it has a stake in every inch of planet earth and beyond, it doesn't, it can go fornicate itself

There are differing opinions on whether or not the United States should defend, let's hope it never gets to that stage.

imagine the chinese visited and sold weapons to Hawaii

All US states are part of the Federation and can secede. States maintain their own militaries and can buy from anyone. Buying Chinese would be problematic for logistic reasons.

Just one US state for you. Mississippi. It has its own military:

The MSSG was initially established by executive order during World War II, after Mississippi National Guard units were called to federal active duty. In 1986, the United States Army adopted the "Total Force Concept" in which the National Guard of all states are trained as, and considered an integral part of the active duty forces of the United States military, though remaining under state control unless activated to federal service. The MSSG was re-activated and reorganized as a cadre force to augment the state's National Guard forces as necessary in the event of their federal deployment.

The Commanding General of the MSSG is appointed by the Adjutant General and Governor of the State of Mississippi, and reports directly to them. All commissioned officer appointments and or promotions must be approved by the Adjutant General and the Governor of Mississippi.[2]

The Mississippi State Guard is organized into three Brigades, each with two Battalions. The units include:[6]

  • 1st Security Brigade
    • 110th Battalion (Walnut Grove, MS)
  • 2nd Security Brigade
    • 210th Battalion (Corinth, MS)
    • 220th Battalion (Camp McCain)
  • 3rd Security Brigade
    • 310th Battalion (Camp Shelby)
    • 320th Battalion (Camp Shelby)

Hawaii has its own military:

The mission of the State of Hawaii, Department of Defense, which includes the Hawaii National Guard (HING), Hawaii Emergency Management Agency and, State Office of Homeland Security is to assist authorities in providing for the safety, welfare, and defense of the people of Hawaii.

You guys don't know much about the USA, do you? Blinded by hatred?
