Samsung Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra

Anyone having issues with the camera shutter on S25 Ultra jittering ?
Software or hardware issue ?

Never had this issue until recently, open the camera app and just hear the shutter and camera image jumps/flickers.
Sounds like an issue with the ois. Had that on my old Nokia 8. Zoom into something zoom out

Anyone know if Vodacom will have the S25 range on cheaper contracts in the near future?

My wife wants to upgrade, I think she's better of getting the S25 than the S26.

Yup got the S26 Ultra yesterday. Upgraded from a 3-4 year old A series phone.

Can't see how this is considered flagship today. Phone is heavier (could be my choice of case), screen is not as good, seems to alwasys go to dim. The Privacy screen thing is truly a cool feature to enable for some apps and notifications. But not life changing. It's fast though and the reason I upgraded, as my previous phone was starting to struggle.

Hoping to test some of the live AI translation tools soon since I live in Europe most of the time now.

Yeh. I've read a few articles that the s26 isn't that great - from my point of view, she's better off getting the s25 cheaper if possible.

Amazing how common that is.

My previous insurance replaced my wifes stolen Samsung phone with a "new" Samsung phone which ended up being blacklisted a year or so later as also being stolen.

It's Takealot. You return it.
You'll have to fight them then. There are many threads here on mybroadband about this issue. When it's out of warranty, you can't log a return. It may only get blacklisted once it's out of warranty...

Iirc one guy said his phone only got blacklisted after 20 months.

Also if you buy a parallel import, expect the warranty to be 6-12 months vs the 2 years that you'll get form Samsung if it's imported via the official channel.

Indeed please be careful. I have return which is credited with a credit note, which they issued and still struggling from May 2025 to get money in my account. They keep sending generic messages, ceo never replies even know he has been emailed multiple times about this.

Samsung has released the tenth One UI 8.5 beta update for the Galaxy S25 series in South Korea. This could be the final beta update for the lineup, with the stable One UI 8.5 release expected next. In India, the same update was released as One UI 8.5 Beta 9.

10 betas already for a skin? Rofl.
Google drops just 4-5 betas for an entire OS in less time.

to be fair they do add a few things into their interface that the other android brands do not so they need to make sure it works and they need it to work with decent stability across a lot of the older high end models too, because they offer updates over 7 generations on a lot of models now and these features need to work with more just the S25 and S26 ranges ..... Google will care less if something doesn't work with a 4 year old or 5 year old phone that they don't make

I regularly use the live translation on my S25 (not sure if its the same system) in DRC and Moz. Typically during team meetings. It hit and miss, probably because i set my phone in the middle of the room so it can't hear everyone clearly. It does at least let me loosely follow along with the conversation.

even the transcription AI thing is hit and miss (on the phones that have it) - sometimes if it doesn't hear something properly what it types out is garbled gobbledygook and it just depends on the primary frequencies behind the voice it is listening to because i have had some calls that were transcribed perfectly - while others it seemed to not get a single word correct for the person on the other end of the line - so i have basically stopped using it - though i do record calls in case i need a record of what was said and i delete those for space after a while BUT i have disabled the live AI transcription
