What game are you playing now? (Part 2)

Other than the awesome Rayman Legends, I've also been playing The Plucky Squire. I can't really recommend the game. Visually the game looks pretty good, varied and unique, but gameplay and story-wise, I'm sorry to say that it's as if the game was designed for autistic children :p

The game holds your hand tightly and it never lets go. Overly easy and every step of the linear journey has to be explained to you in great detail. The story and constant text-based dialogue is also way too childish and "nice".

Overall 5/10. For the visuals and there's a nice but still easy minigame here and there.

I loved the game 🙂

I don't understand the hate that Mixtape is getting. I played the game, and I thought it was well-thought out given its design. It is not 10/10, but more like an 8/10 when you have to score it according to its philosophy. Though this game clearly has a broad target market, most gamers won't get the game at all.

I didn't grow up in the USA. I grew up in a coastal town during the 90s and early 2000s. I am not going to go into an explainer, but I was in the then "MTV" crowd. Playing the game, it was not so dissimilar to my own growing up. That music is used to recall memories is a good take.

Think most of the backlash is cause of the marketing and money involved being Oracle money
So mostly about the large financial backing for a so called indie project.

Other issues I saw is how the critics where "bribed" and also that it was very short.

Its not a game. Its an interactive movie.
Its not an indie studio. Its owned by the daughter of the top 5 wealthiest person on the planet.
The reviewer and streamer bonus packages are worth 5x more than the "game". This doesn't bode well with the guy on the street who's didn't get any sweetening-ups and it gives no credibility to review scrores.
The green and and blue haired chicks with dicks "reviewers" shat on games that defined genres and persistently complaints about woman looking like woman.
Only 2k people from the 8 billion people on planet earth played it.

That is your opinion. In that opinion, then not any FMV videogame title should be considered a game. Yes, it is a 'walking' simulator, but I don't see why that should DQ the game.

I don't see how that impacts my experience with the game. There are popular individuals who say the game isn't true to its time. Just have a look at this opinion.

There are some parts I absolutely connect with, I can see why some reviewers felt the way they did, but, I view this as a generational issue of pining for a past and a life people never had. Idolizing an era, living there mentally because they don't fit into today.

Then all other media, targeted at an era, should be held to the same standard. It is that messaging that I am seeing. It is an odd opinion, since the person claimed to have played the game, and connected in parts with the game, but then doesn't grasp what the game is about? That is strange.

Only 2k people from the 8 billion people on planet earth played it.

It is a rather short game, and it is also priced @ $17.99 on Steam. The game's music licensing though, I guess it would have cost them quite a bit.

I do think it is weird that "2k people" played the game, but "8 billion" seems to have a play through opinion on it.

Note: I completed the game in 3 hours. The game completion achievement on Steam sits at 40%. The average play time on Steam seems to be sitting close to 2.5 hours, and this would include bots.

Finished Rayman Legends. The 8-bit musical levels at the end are insane! Insanely difficult (especially #2. I think it gave me eye cancer) but so damn good at the same time. Here are all of them:

The good fight's not with you bud. It's with the plants in the industry spewing agendas.

As things stand today, "reviewers" and "journalists" couldn't be further removed from gaming. In fact, they pride themselves and boast about mocking gamers.

These ****s are supposed to be the ones guiding our purchases. Instead they are selling us ideologies.

All the games on the left outsold, outlasted and outplayed the games on the right. And this is just 6 out of thousands.

Now I don't need to tell you, the stats tells you for me, but the overwhelming majority of gamers are sick of it. So sick of it, they see it, even think it, and immediately **** on it.

At the end of the day you just have to ask yourself

I have not taken IGN seriously in a loooong time. Same with PC Gamer who I used to love back in the day ordering their magazine through CNA in the late 90's. It is like they all became rotten within the last 10 years.

Now all these media houses cater to a specific audience, service a political ideology or they are paid to punt a game.

No wonder they don't give Asian developed games any good scores because they are not in bed with them IE Crimson desert, Wukong, Stellar Blade etc.

"Industry plant" 🤦‍♂️

What kind of agenda is Mixtape trying to spew? It's a R170 indie game about high school students trying to get drunk.

Probably "big alcohol" trying to get people to buy more booze.

Mixtape- Finished it in one session on Saturday and I enjoyed it. Maybe not a 10 but I found it to be very relaxing to follow the stories.
Ye, had a good time with it too. That section in the video store cracked me up.

Would love more games like this that you can pick up and just have a good time with over a weekend. Took me 4 hours to finish, 2 hours on Friday and Saturday.

Game looks great too, but didn't run as well as I thought it would (it is UE5 game which is probably why).

Its neposlop. Or is manufacturing expensive redundant tech and giving it away for free for $20 games what Indie studios usually do?

All the songs are licensed. All of them. Is paying royalties something Indie studios usually do too?

But I digress, you do you.
