I'm in the market for a new front loader... stuck between Bosch, Siemens and LG, preferably 10kg upwards. What are you guys using, and which brand to avoid? My budget is max 15k & I don't have space issues, so machine size is not an issue at all. Also, is it a good idea to buy a washer & dryer combo, or should I stick to the tried & tested washer only?

I bought a CANDY wash & dry combo machine in 2024 (big mistake!). After breaking down & being repaired multiple times, it's now irreparable. :(
This was my 1st time buying a front loader, so I didn't really know what to look out for. I've always used a top loader.

I had a LG washing machine and Dishwasher. Both lasted about 5-6 years, then broke and could not get parts to fix or was to expensive to fix.
Only LG product I had that lasted was a TV

thanks, will go through the threads.

Hisense 12kg. 4-year warranty and one of the best perceived build quality machines I found. Large capacity, 1,400RPM, steam, auto dosing (if that’s your thing), WiFi. Looks great and has a matching heat pump (efficient) tumble dryer model.

Bargain at R8,500!

I have a bad experience with hisense.
TV - screen goes green every time there's a checkers hyper ad showing. Then it remains green for the rest of the day. :(
Dishwasher - the baskets were fully rusted by the time the machine turned 1 year. Then hisense told me their warranty on shelves/baskets is 6 months :(

I think I'll stick with bosch. Now off to the shops :)

Thanks guys.

I was shocked to see rust on a friend's modern Bosch dishwasher's trays after a year.

And my Hisense 65" OLED is still going strong, just as good as my LG OLED which actually developed weird dead pixels along the top horizontal.

But we are talking washing machines here. You must do what you think is best for yourself, but do know you are currently shopping with your heart and not your head.

For me, with the knowledge that everything nowadays is roughly equal, I buy the best specs, best perceived build quality, and longest warranty.

That's why you leave the door open after you've emptied it. Let it dry.
I left mine open every time. That grey plastic on the shelves still peeled anyway :(
Must be my bad luck with the Hisense brand.

Same with the TV, the previous one just stopped working - also Hisense. Now the current one goes green every time a Checkers advert comes on. Feels like a bad joke that just won't go away.
