The Audi Thread

Was yours making a chuffing sound before the repair?

Mines on 230k and I haven't touched injectors yet. I guess I wait for the chuffing sound before bothering?

Mine wasn't, I thought it would be a good idea to do some preventative maintenance, in hindsight waiting may have been a better idea. If it ain't broke...

Sorry to hear about your experience, hopefully it goes better if you give the Menlyn branch a go.

Thanks. I am still trying to decide. Sometimes its a case of the devil you know vs the one you don't. Will see what other feedback i get before i decide to go to Menlyn

If you have issues at either, Frans the owner is generally on the ball, he even had a service technician phone me personally to apologise for not putting an air filter clamp back on correctly.

Sounds like amateur hour over there.

Having issues with these guys again.

If the Menlyn branch are the same owners, I will probably have to find a new place to take my car going forward. ☹️

Yeah, I'm not surprised an injector is puffing if they can't do the basics right like fitting a hose clamp.

Sorry to hear, I can send the owners contact details via PM, if you don't come right and want to take it up with him.

Anyone else with an older Audi (mine is a 2010 A3 Ambition) get this type of SMS (below), and if so what is the issue with these airbags that they need to fix? I'll give them a call next week as apparently it is legit.

Your AUDI (VIN WAUZZZ8P0BA123456 ) has a potentially life-threatening airbag recall campaign. It is imperative that you contact your preferred Audi Dealer soonest OR book your FREE inspection here: https://onlylinks.cc/iHyI
You can also give us a ring on 0419966612. Please ignore if the campaign was completed in the last 14 days.

It’s just a faulty airbag recall probably related to Takata airbags that degrade with time and can released lethal metal shrapnel when they are triggered.
