If Algeria manage to draw against Austria then 9 out of the 10 African teams would’ve made it past the 1st round.

One of the best games of the tournament so far, dramatics wise. Very exciting until the 65th minute when it was 2-2 then both teams played cautiously since a draw would mean they both progress. Algeria spent about 10 minutes passing the ball around the halfway line.

Algeria score a winner in the 94th minute to knock Austria out. Austria equalize in the 96th to un-knock themselves out.

Both teams deserving to go through.

Spain vs Austria and Switzerland vs Algeria in the next round. Probably worked out better for Algeria that they didn’t win this match.

I dont have anything bad to say about the US team. They've been playing great, except for their last game. But why is Timmy saying things like this? talking crap like his Zlatan or like its a build up to a WWE smackdown match.
 
Canada pretty strong favorites tonight. I'm hoping Bafana show up, because we certainly have it in us to beat them.

It should be an entertaining match. Anyway, its been a huge achievement to get to the knockouts.
 
I love the positive narrative here, all the naysayers seem to have fallen silent.

No surprise, South Africans only stand up positively with victory, we don't seem to understand supporting South Africa through thick and thin.
 
Odds not terrible have a 50 /50 shot to take it or we might be heading to extra time and penalties.

South Africa has a good chance of winning. Not sure if it true but I heard Canada has never won a match outside of Canada in their whole history. Meaning if they win, South Africa will be the first team Canada a has beaten outside Canada. Canada's weather is very different to hotter climate which they will be playing in meaning they will have to adjust more than SA who have played in a hot climate in their group games.

As a South African you got to feel confident seeing Canada's 0% winning historical record
