I tell them not to do it and then they do it automatically, I think I am standing at R111 000 limit currently.

is the cashback due to 1 July or only 7 July or is that only from next month?

You get 10% cashback with them, which is hardly anything compared to the other credit cards where you can get 20% back at woolworths and 40% back at checkers. Thats Standard Bank. Nedbank is now moving to 30% back at Checkers.

I genuinely think this is the worst credit card I've ever taken out.

I've had it for just 2–3 days, and it's already been a complete nightmare.

How does a brand-new credit card become unusable after one successful transaction? I can make a purchase for R250 without any issue, then immediately afterwards the card is restricted for "fraud."

Every time this happens, I have to phone the Absa Fraud Department. The agent tells me there are no blocks on my profile, or that the previous agent already fixed the issue and everything is working correctly. I then try the card again, it works once, and the exact same problem comes back. It's the same endless cycle over and over.

To make things even more confusing, Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Wallet all show the account as **restricted**, while Woolworths tells me the transactions are being declined by Absa. Absa, on the other hand, insists there are no issues.
So who's actually responsible?

This is supposed to be a credit card for everyday spending, yet I have absolutely no confidence that it'll work when I need it. Standing at a till wondering whether my card will be accepted is embarrassing and completely unacceptable.

I've spent more time on the phone with fraud agents than actually using the card. At this point, I'm exhausted. If this can't be permanently resolved, I'm seriously considering closing the account because I can't keep dealing with the same issue every single day.

Has anyone experienced something similar with a Woolworths/Absa credit card? If so, what was the actual fix?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Sometimes even R25-125 is declined I'm tired Robbie and this is embarrassing also.

Don't you have to jump through hoops with those credit cards? I'd love to switch now that Woolworths has implemented this annoying gamified loyalty scheme, but I want something straightforward.

Capitec my Friend 1% back :)

One of my actions was to make 5 food transactions. I split my basket into 5 separate payments which should work as it has historically worked for goals.

These poor tellers are not being paid enough.

Mines is a bit higher. Just got a text message in the past 5 days. Not happy. When they used to call, I asked them to decrease to 40k. So how the heck it's been tripled I do not know.

Surely this is against some rule.

A bit annoying, I bet they'll probably have ridiculous requirements like shop for R20000 to eventually reach the 10%.

Woolworths App
Money
Loyalty
Thanks for that... I was looking at the "Loyalty" page on the bottom of the app...
Not under the "Money->Loyalty" page

Oh well, this new Plus "rewards" facelift isn't going to pull me back from eBucks and Discovery...
In fact it might be time to say goodbye, I won't even be getting the two free coffees per month to compensate for the monthly card fee.

Looks like I'm going Capitec for the 1% outside Woolworths.
To Be Fair | Capitec Was The Best I Have Used 1% Back Every Month On The 10Th None Of This Tiers ****.

Woolworths is just declining everywhere I go & I end up using my Capitec or Cheque Account to pay which is really stupid because some times my wife has my woolworths card and it declines.

App was completely unusable for me today, clicking sign in just gives me a blank page. Decided to run a network trace to see what is going on. Found out that because I am using an ad-blocking service on my home network, WW app then does not allow sign in, sign in page does not even display. Absolutely pathetic.
