Capitec adds 49 new smart ID bank branches, bringing total to 127

Capitec has added 49 new bank branches that offer smart ID applications since 18 June 2026, as the Department of Home Affairs recently welcomed over 200 bank branches nationwide.

There are now 127 Capitec branches across the country that offer smart ID applications, including in rural districts such as Mankweng and Mokopane in Limpopo, as well as urban and peri-urban areas.

They just need to get passport renewal up and running as well. My passport has expired and I don't want to go to Home Affairs
