The Rugby Thread - Part Deux

The other results, interesting...esp the Japan and Scot wins and the some surprising close scores for the other games.

When Ben and Marco come on it was a different game.

We need another lock option.

Grats Boks !!
Yeah. I'm a big Hanekom fan (and I admire Rassie's willingness to experiment and innovate) but in hindsight, I think Ben Jason is a better seven/lock, and Hanekom should play six or eight. Jasper crashing it up for 60 min with Cameron coming on for the last 20 at 8 would be a beautiful combo. Alternatively, Cameron starting at 8 in a more open game.

Great win for the Boks! I must admit, I had feelings of deja vu of the Ozzie game last year when we stormed into a 17-0 lead and the Poms came back to make it 17-14 at half time.
I was surprised at the Wallabies/Ireland game. Wallabies had a healthy lead for big parts of the game and got pipped in the end. I thought Ireland would smack them.
Also surprised at how easily the Scots beat the Pumas.

anyone knows how serious Ox's injury is or how long he will be out for?

PSDT did well at lock but we need extra lock cover.
I seem to think Lood and Mostert are on the verge of returning to play and/or selection.. don't quote me though...

Team announcement is imminent... 11.30ish?

Ruan has played a ridiculous number of games this season. He is looking tired. Unfortunate that he is one of the few locks still standing...

If I was Rassie. Starting XV to run Scotland off their feet and a bench to close the deal.

PS I don't expect the starting XV to look anything like this but I would expect the 23 to be pretty close...

1. Mchunu
2. Jan-hendrick
3. Porthen
4. Psdt
5. Lood
6. Paul
7. BJ Dixson
8. Evan
9. Grant
10. Manie
11. Kurt
12. DDA
13. Jessie
14. Cheslin
15. Willemse
16. Grobbies
17. Steenekamp
18. Wilco
19. Hannkeom/ruan
20. Jasper
21. Wiese Cobus
22. Embrose
23. Pollard

Do you think there is any chance that the Loftus ticket pricing could also drop to insult people who have already overpaid and to not have a half full stadium, some time before the match?

I think if tickets don't sell as desired, then yes, to save face they will have to drop the prices. SA Rugby won't want to be embarrased if the cameras shows a half empty stadium.

The Nation's cup with all the 2nd tier teams is also pretty good. Or at least the highlights. Too much to watch.
