All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

My Sunskyn wi-fi dongle has never worked. The green light came on for about a minute and went off.
I bought the inverter from Voltex. I asked Sunsynk what to do and maybe supply a wired adaptor but everything must go through Voltex. Been trying on and off for 5 months but Voltex just say they don't deal with Sunsynk so no go there
if you have another users inverter to test the dongle - but could be the could be the actual comm board that is the issues ,its common on older Deye models but they swap it out quick and only need to take that board in not the whole inverter, not sure on sunsynk though
A friend in England has the same inverter and says there is a better app for iOS. Do,you know anything about this?
unless its a 3rd party or the new paid version of sunsyn connect not sure

Hey everyone, hoping you can help. I am running a full sunsynk system with a 8kva inverter with 2x 5.5 kwh batteries. I have had it for a few years now and something has always bothered me and wanted to check. On the Sunsyk app or web GUI i only see the inverter under equipment. under batteries there is nothing. Is this supposed to be like this or am I missing something?

That is normal afaik. I don't see anything under the main battery tab, but if you go to Inverter -> Battery yous should see the stats there.

Looking for some advice - hope someone can assist.

I have a 8KW Sunsynk and I am looking to replace my old batteries with a 16Kw unit.

Have seen the HinaEss PowerGem Max 16kWh and the Knyee KNY-ES-LV-16 16.08 kWh - which one would work better with the Sunsynk and Solar Assistant.

Both are great units, and would work well with the 8k SS.

Knyee, although not well known in SA, is a huge Chinese company, and their local prices are compelling. A pity that you missed the Powerforumstore special about 2 months ago, they were selling their 15kWh model for R27k, it's now just under R29k.
I personally opted for 2x 16kWh PowerGem Max supplied by Powerforumstore with my 5k SS, I liked the built-in fire suppression, and at the time I did not want any potential teething problems with the Kynee because I am off grid. Any issues that the Kynee might of had should have been sorted by now, but give Wimpie at the Powerforumstore a call to confirm.

Thank you, will give them a call.

Anybody using Solar Assistant ever switched inverters like from Sunsynk to Deye and had issues? I have a few completely false readings like this grid 'back feed'...

Our 2 15KW DEYE's feedback to the grid in the night if we leave the grid on and they also push back to our diesel GenSet.

We got the installer back and have grid on a WIFI contact so now we turn grid on only when we need it.

For the GenSet, it will feedback but as soon as I turn on a heavy startup load in our workshop, it switches around and starts pulling correctly from the GenSet and continues working correctly for that session.

For both of our issues, the installer, nor DEYE support can explain why so we just live with it using our workarounds.

Still trying to figure out why our Deye inverter says we are not pulling from grid, using PV to charge batteries, run UPS (essential) load and then back feeding for non-UPS (nonessential) load...

While Solar Assistant says we are back feeding to grid the equivalent (roughly) of what the Deye says we are back feeding to non-UPS (nonessential) load...

I have asked Solar Assistant support for their thoughts, will reach out to our installer as well and try confirm we are not back feeding. We have a CT clamp installed like we had with the SunSynk and the Deye inverter looks to be setup correctly...

seems like solar assistant is picking up non essentials as grid?
