With Sony stopping physical support, Xbox has a easy win if they want.

Start using the Expansion slot for physical media ala Nintendo Gamekey Card style.

On Helix you can have the slot in front supporting the same cards. Don't need expensive RAM cards, a simple ROM Chip with Lic that allow you to download the game from the store. Can Still share and resell game if you want.

Cost R30 for housing and about R50 for ROM + Board.

The Expansion slot is already hot swappable so dont need much code in the OS to check it for a licence in order to start a game. If a Dev want the full game on a card they can do that as well. Gonna be costly but can be done.

Then people will moan that they can't play their old DVD and Bluray games. If they include the drive then people will moan about the cost. If they sell the drive an add-on then people will moan about profiteering. I think you can see where this is going.

Sony is making the right call, you just have to do it. People will moan for a bit and then get on with their lives...

Honestly, it would be cool if both MS and Sony follow in Nintendawgs footsteps but use something like NFC instead of the GKC. That way they don't need additional card readers on the consoles or whatever. You can just add games via your phone or controller etc.

If they want to go all digital then give it some swag I say

If the rumours of them removing all Day 1 games on Gamepass becomes true, then I'm cancelling.

Who wants to pay R209-R239pm just to get Bob Ross and co

Maybe he meant "compiling shaders" screens from call of duty. Takes half a day and when you dare to adjust any GPU setting, the shader compiling restarts from zero :ROFL:
