FNB under fire for R25 monthly fee for business banking account holders

Guess a good thing I decided to get a second account for my business with bank zero, might be my only account soon

Bank Zero, just f..ked up within 4 days of opening an account, guess back to the drawing board and find an other bank as a second bank for my business.

Take note FNB, you might loose all my private accounts as well, but not to bank zero
Bank Zero was ex FNB techies and the finance woman etc. Done on the cheap and they'll all be happily drowning in ANC style riches after the present acquisition completes.

Great it must be such a relief they not taking that money off now.
Nah - still worried that these junk fees infest South Africa and all businesses see it as a viable strategy. If your neighbours house is on fire you need to go help because it can spread to your house soon.

We need to make it clear that any body adding junk fees won't have it hidden. Organisations are like Pavlovs dogs. We need to make it hurt when they misbehave so they don't do it. And we shouldn't be selective because that just confuse them.

Yeah i don't have the time and effort to do that, but good luck :)

No no. That is not the point.

Once a company starts with stealth billing and nickle and diming you you can be sure that they don't give a hoot. This is an issue about trust. And you have to be able trust your bank. Because once this behaviour starts it escalates.

So I *hate* stealth billing and junk fees. If you know how it got out of hand in the US you will know that if this thing gets out of hand it ain't pretty. We got to nip it in the bud. Hard.

I don't want junk fees, and crazy tipping culture and all that crap in South Africa.

The beauty is there are other banks. We need to send a message.
Good luck if you think there's a bank that really cares about you. Those billions in annual revenue don't happen because Johand on MyBB moved over. Some are more subtle and some are more obvious, but one thing you can "bank" on is they will all find a way to make money off schmuks like you and me.

I'm the kind of person that plays the net sum game - I don't really care if I have to spend R800pm if it means I get back R2,500 in real or perceived value. Other people count their pennies because they don't have R800 in the first place - they end up in an ATM queue outside Capitec...

Some time ago when Bond shopping, FNB approved me but wanted me to get a letter from Wesbank stating my only car finance i ever had (mid nineties) was settled.
When I responded that Wesbank is part of FirstRand Group, why must I get a letter, was told its a requirement. Honestly think the lady did not realise its the same damn company.

Moved to Nedbank.

Useless FNB app loads and loads for ages, eventually have to close the app and redo.

End up using TymeBank a lot of the time , faster, instant payment below 3k free

As an fnb customer- also keep looking at my statements and keep wondering why my expensive monthly banking fee doesnt cover all of the few small charges. It feels like being double charged, paying for the service and then being simultaneously billed separately for same thing
