Fifa World Cup 2026

Messi stamps on Spence's foot. Seconds later Argentina score the winner. Nothing happens.

Meanwhile, similar incident, VAR pulls back the play almost a minute and 110 yards back to disallow Egypt's brilliant goal against Argentina for the exact same thing.

There were multiple other incidents last night, and it took a while for the ref to get his card out. Funniest was when Kane covered his mouth while speaking to the ref, and some Argie ran up to the ref to point out that Kane should be sent off for it. Oh, and Messi going down every 5 minutes, and then flapping his arms when he didn't get a free kick and a yellow for his opponent.

Hopefully Spain klaps FIFA/Israel/Argentina on Sunday. But, they probably won't - and we'll all know why.
You need help

You need to open your eyes when you watch football.

Rice also covered his mouth and should have been sent off. Refs have not been great and Argentina has been on the lucky side but not the reason they won against England, the Salah call against Egypt was more dicey. Either way best two teams in the final and Spain have the quality and confidence to handle Argentina's tactics so should be a good game just hope both teams turn up.

I want Spain and Messi to win not so keen on some of the other lads from Argentina but still better than England and Pickford winning!

Agh please, England are absolute professionals at diving

Jas, reading social media today and even this thread, one can see why most of the world hate England.
They nag and try blaming everyone and everything but themselves for their loss.
What a bunch of wankers.
If you look at any match in any sport objectively you will see the ref make mistakes equally for and against both sides.

But then again, because of this behaviour, thats why its so much more special when the English loose.

Yeah. " England" not happy with the coach, this morning on Sky News, and all the other already broadcasted inserts.

Intresting Stat, also think Spain are the better team so odds might be mispriced.

For a frenchman to be defending England, you KNOW it has to have been really bad.

From what I have picked up on social media, this Argentinian team and their fans have achieved something quite remarkable; made more people dislike them than the English.

Messi is the only bit of goodwill they seem to have.

Hindsight
I bet if the England coach kept same attacking game plan after the goal and they lost. Everyone would be crying for his head because he did not rather defend the lead.
