Never even heard of this, must admit was concerned to see one reviewer compare it to the Name of the Winds. Always concerned about starting a multi book series that might never be finished but I see this has seven volumes and all wrapped up, will give it a go.
 
Life, The Universe and Everything - Douglas Adams. Always thought the title said "Everything Else" at the end but maybe that's just the Mandela effect.

The Rising - Brian Keene. The first 30 pages are an interesting take on the zombie apocalypse. Will see where this goes.

I’ll definitely give it a try. Have yet to regret a book, in all honesty.

I mean that reading is a lot easier than writing. “Don’t do this” is a lot easier than “I shouldn’t have done this”.
 
As noted in the past I only really properly picked up reading this year.

Just finished the following audio books:
Lord of the rings: Fellowship of the ring
Pride and Prejudice (wife's recommendation)
Sense and sensibility(wife's recommendation)
Busy with - Great expectations(wife's recommendation)

Physical books - After lonesome dove finished:

Toujours Provence : Mayle, Peter
Land: A Novel : O'Farrell, Maggie

And now I am finally running down the dungeons of

+- 15 hard copies finished since Jan and 3 audiobooks (only started these a month ago)

Thoroughly enjoying adding reading into my life!

This was quite fascinating, even though I follow US politics closely, there is some stuff that was new as it was not reported widely. He really would prefer a system where he was leader for life.
 
just finished 2001 space odyssey, and started the sequel 2010.
It did not age very well, and the Editor's note in the front is almost longer than the book. very full of himself. joh

Hey, I was about to post this as well.
I started book 4 this morning and started book 1, 2 weeks back. It's such good time it's hard to put down.

Well done. Wow, never heard of anyone (in my circle) picking up reading later in life. If one doesn't read during school/college years, it generally stays that way.

Of course my assumption is you are past that school/college days.

Probably assumed he's muslim/hindi as well given he mentioned the wife cos they do teen marriages.

100% turning 37 this year. I can totally understand why its difficult to get into late in life, helps loads with my wife being a lifetime reader so there is someone doing the same :) Likely read more fiction in the last7 months than the last 20 years.

A big push to really get stuck into reading was our little guy, he is 15 months old now and we want absolutely minimal/no screen time for him, we read to him every evening and he has loads of books that he pages through, throughout the day.

All the hard work seems to be paying off we went out for breakfast on Saturday and he was just looking round the cafe and flicking through his book and pushing his cars around, sat and ate his breakfast and we had about 1.5 hours of perfect time out.

Later on it might be a mission to get him to join dinner table without book in front of him. Talking from personal experience but yeah, that is something you can tackle later. LOL.
 
I read a ton when younger. Almost completely stopped sometime in my 30's when life just got too busy. Now that the kids are older teens and can look after themselves more I am getting back into it a lot. Been a few years now and enjoying it again.
 
All Systems Red by Martha Wells. First novella in Murderbot Diaries series. Short, fun read. Tried the audiobook of second one, but I can't passive listen. Back to text for me.
 
The Gathering Storm by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson. I really liked Knife of Dreams, so I have high hopes for this one!
