What book are you reading at the moment ?

mmm maybe not popular opinion but just finished DCC book 1 and im not likely going to pick up the next, although I really enjoyed the first 150-200 pages felt a bit repetitive and by the end of the book couldnt see myself going though all the floors. Maybe later ill try the second end but not for now. Now to figure out what to read from the ever growing TBR list :)

books 2-4 are better written than the first i thought but they are very much the same format. Probably wont enjoy them if you did not like the first

Yeah thats my thinking - can totally understand why people enjoy it though.

I have quite an extensive TBR list so I may come back in the future but not now.

Its also just a reminder that there are books for all and you wont necessarily enjoy everything.

Reading Frankenstein now and OMW its an absolutely beautiful piece of work,.

Done 21 books now since Jan and was telling my wife I have read more in the last 7 months than in my last 20 years for "fun" (38 now)

Biggest regret not reading sooner but rather "late" than never

I had a long drive from Windhoek to the Cape this week and listened to this on the way. Just wow, the author weaves the story of Daisy de Melker, accused of several murders and her trial which was apparently front page news around the world, into the Johannesburg of the time with tales of the city including the Foster Gang and Herman Charles Bosman.

Highly recommended.

Go visit the Women's Prison, on Constitution Hill in Joburg; Daisy was imprisoned there.
 
My daughter started reading Skuldugggery Pleasant and was excited and wanted to talk about it, so I started as well.
At the moment I am not after anything heavy or spectacular, and this fits in with that. But is surprisingly enjoyable and such easy reads.
 
Finished the Will of the Many after a couple false starts. Was decent enough, but didn't live up to the hype imo, still a worthwhile read though. Decided to pick up book 2, The strength of the few.

Audible is having a massive sale so I snagged the first 3 red rising books and the road by Cormac McCarthy.

Still trying to figure out whether to get the Hierarchy Series just yet...
 
Finished Cold Eyes by Peter Cawdron.

The first of his First Contact series that I’ve read (27 different takes on first contact so far, all stand alone).

I enjoyed it. Reading My Sweet Satan now.
