I bought a Husky extra heavy duty brush cutter from Dennis Mowers (same as Turfmaster, same company I believe). I bought it as I had a lot of cutting to do on a smallholding and it was 10% of the price of an equivalent Stihl machine. Everyone said "it'll work for 6 months then break". Well let me tell you, I've run that machine to hell and back. When I pull the rope, it starts.
I've installed the nylon head, the 3-tooth heavy blade as well as the circular saw blade for it. It CUTS. The circular blade is overrated but the 3-tooth blade gets A LOT of use. Yes, I look after it, service it, grease it often, etc. but I work it HARD, and it's still going strong 18 months later. I suspect the front gearbox/head might need replacement soon, but that's a part that costs less than R300 for the whole assembly.
Worth every cent. I'm buying a big chainsaw from the same group of companies in December.
Husky, Tanaka, Stiletto, Power Pro, etc. it's all the same. They clone Stihl/Husqvarna machines and most of the spares are cross compatible as well.
