Skyworth soundbar SS586

If you pause what you are watching for some time (+-20mins), does it go into standby?
Can be anything, YouTube, Netflix, Prime, Plex. Even when the input is changed to the Xbox that is connected. When nothing is happening on the Xbox for about 20 minutes it shut down.

A little late to the party, I am, but my Google search brought me here. My solution was to change the audio setting on the TV (Skyworth 55”) to “pass through”. The sound bar (SS586) then works fine on this setting, a doesn’t work (keeps turning off) on the other settings. Dolby 5.1 is adequate for my needs, and if Dolby Atmos is not supported, I’m not phased.

Gonna give that a try and give an update.

The TV is on, the soundbar is on, but there is no volume at all. Has anyone else with this soundbar, or perhaps any other Skyworth soundbar, experienced an issue with the ARC not working sometimes and the only way to fix it is to power cycle the unit?

I have made attempts to get in touch with Skyworth by Facebook, phone, and email, which seems to be a problem for a lot of people. There is also not a lot of information available online concerning these devices.

I had a Hisense soundbar before, and I never had any problems with it.
I have tried all the TV's various ARC settings.
Although it occurs relatively infrequently, the problem does occur every other day.
Did you find the solution? I also have this problem with my skyworth soundbar ss330

Hi, not yet. So far I've upgraded HDMI cables to ensure they're not the issue. Online support said there are no firmware updates for the soundbars, but now that I know I'm not the only one, I'm going to take it to the support center and see what they say.

Hi All,

I reached out to Skyworth support regarding this issue, and this was their response.

After my initial email to Skyworth in January, followed by a few exchanges with their support team, Skyworth contacted me today with a firmware update and installation instructions for the SS586 soundbar.

I successfully installed the update and am currently testing it under different scenarios. So far, the results are very promising. The soundbar no longer switches itself off after approximately 20 minutes of inactivity—it has now remained on for more than an hour without entering standby.

I have also restarted the TV several times and completely powered it off rather than simply placing it into sleep mode. The soundbar has continued to reconnect correctly and has not lost its HDMI ARC/CEC synchronisation with the TV.

I am still testing additional scenarios, but the fact that the soundbar no longer enters standby after 20 minutes is already a very positive sign.

This is the firmware provided and the instructions from support.

"
1. Copy the ota.bin file from the document to the root directory of the USB drive (the USB drive must be in FAT32 format, and no other files should be stored on it).

2. Insert the USB drive into the USB port on the Soundbar (do not turn on the Soundbar at this time).

3. After inserting the USB drive, turn on the Soundbar. No manual operation is required; the Soundbar will automatically begin the upgrade.

4. During the upgrade process, the Soundbar display will show “UP”; once the upgrade is complete, the display will show “OL”, indicating that the upgrade has been successfully finished.
