The TV is on, the soundbar is on, but there is no volume at all. Has anyone else with this soundbar, or perhaps any other Skyworth soundbar, experienced an issue with the ARC not working sometimes and the only way to fix it is to power cycle the unit?

I have made attempts to get in touch with Skyworth by Facebook, phone, and email, which seems to be a problem for a lot of people. There is also not a lot of information available online concerning these devices.

I had a Hisense soundbar before, and I never had any problems with it.
I have tried all the TV's various ARC settings.
Although it occurs relatively infrequently, the problem does occur every other day.

Let me know how the sound is once you get it working...Also want to buy one as I have the 55sue9300

The sound quality is great, and the Bluetooth rear speakers are convenient. My only issue is having to unplug and plug it in just to get it to work when they decide to stop.

Then the lack of information about their new speakers and support from Skyworth is a big negative.

With my Samsung Q600C soundbar connected via eARC to my LG CX, I sometimes need to change the TV's input momentarily from eARC -> Internal speakers -> eARC.

It's connected because the TV remote volume will show the change on the soundbar, but there is just no sound.
This usually happens when I was on Bluetooth on HDMI3, and then I turn off the Bluetooth device and switch back to HDMI1

It's annoying, but now I just preempt it :X3:

This obviously wont help you, but it does seem that eARC/ARC is not "stable"

I don't know about ARC but I did have a listen to it. Worth it for the price. Lots of bass. Better than the entry JBL.

Can't really find much specs on this, what dolby audio does it support? Is it hdmi in and out?

I was also looking to upgrade from my old Samsung 2.1 to a 5.1 system then i saw this thread and decided to go and check this unit out but man I must say I was disappointment when I heard the sound of this 5.1 690watt unit compared to the Samsung 3.1 430watt unit next to it.

The Samsung was way louder and bass was nice and deep (Well that was what I was looking for a unit that was louder and had more bass than my current setup). Apparently I just missed the promotion and there is a newer model also launching soon according to the Samsung guy at the shop so for now I will hold on a bit longer.

Interestingly, I tried this and think I found the issue.

When the issue occurs, the soundbar says its volume is 10, for example. I change the source or turn the soundbar off, and I see the TV is set to 0 (the last state was 10).

I can only guess because the TV volume ranges from 0-100 and the sound bar range is 0-33. So each time I change the volume, you see the soundbar display go 1 up and the TV goes 3 up. This causes the issue. Sometimes...

I assume there is an issue with the ARC connection, as you mentioned.

Changing the sources does not fix it for me; unfortunately, for now, power cycling is the only solution.

So because of ARC it allows you to pass sound through whatever device is connected to the TV (if your TV supports ARC). You would connect all your media devices to the TV, and the soundbar would play all of them.
I'm sure i could bypass my issue with a digital optic cable from my media box, but then the other media devices will only work via the TV sound, that is why i don't consider this option.

Yeah but so would an optical cable from the TV to the sound bar ;-P. The whole original point of ARC was so that you'd plug in one device to it, then you'd plug the TV into the soundbar, so you don't sacrifice an HDMI port.

Simple question, does your TV have optical out? If yes, plug the TV optical out to the soundbars optical in. Go into your TV settings and change the output from ARC to optical, now everything plugged into hdmi ports will play through the soundbar. You won't be able to control the volume from the TV though and it won't turn on with the TV either.

My biggest challenge with the Skyworth 5.1 soundbar (SS586) was to stop the auto standby that activated after 10-15 minutes, even when the tv was active with sound. The soundbar is connected to a Skyworth smart tv (SUD9300F) and the following settings on the tv helped to stop the auto standby and better the sound quality (this might also work for other brands of soundbars):
  1. Click Source on the tv's remote control
  2. Choose HDMI 1 (the only HDMI ARC port and the one you should connect the soundbar with), where you will see a background picture and "No signal" message
  3. Press OK
  4. Click Menu
  5. Click More
  6. Click Setup
  7. Deactivate Auto Standby
  8. Go back to Menu and More (above 4 & 5)
  9. Click Settings, then Inputs
  10. Scroll down and activate HDMI control and deactivate TV auto power on
You can also make sure that your settings are linked with the type of HDMI cable you use. I have a 4K 60Hz cable (HDMI 2.0). Go to Setup (above 6), click on HDMI Setting, click on Signal Format and choose the cable type you have to assure the sound speed sinks best.

The combination of this tv and soundbar gives great sound and easy operations with one remote control.

Are you able to help me? I recently got the skyworth ss888 & I have it connected to the HDMI ARC on a skyworth g6600g but there's just no sound at all. I've messed around with all the settings & after power cycling everything I do get sound but only through the tv. The soundbar is fine with Bluetooth but silent with HDMI. Please help

I wished this worked. Still have this issue.. I actually timed it. 20minutes. I have it connected to Skyworth TV as well. The menu is a bit different. Switched off anything with auto shutdown or sleep mode and it still does it

Must be a Skyworth tv issue? Mine is connected to a Samsung tv via cable and does not go into standby.
