The 'Massive' Gauteng Weather and Storm Warning Thread! The Sequel

Here's how our Mountain View area is looking (SE Houghton / S of Norwood,
a couple of km SE of Rosebank which is central Jo'burg)

5 degrees apparently feels like -1 but sheltered outside felt like about -3 just now.
Highest of 10 will apparently feel like 7.
Rain risk ending in about an hour.

Looks like it's mostly over by 11:00.
Edit: Only 3 degrees higher tomorrow, looking better on Friday but there's still a week before it's decently in the 20's.

Had to go outside for a bit. While I am sick I have to say it felt like I was going into shock. It is freezing out there.

I am not sick and just went out in garden just for just a minute. Flip - it is windy and freezing. Gonna get some hot samoosas on way back when I go out for school run. Pity kara nichas don't have any real spicy stuff though. They seem to be catering to lowest of the lowest denominator. LOL. .

Extreme heat plus our decaying water infrastructure.

You may well be enjoying water restrictions instead of your pool.

AKA 'reservoir' to the modern Johazardsburger.

Jokes aside, I was having this conversation yesterday. We get irate enough when seeing a burst pipe somewhere literally spewing water down the drain - sometimes for months, or longer, on end. Now imagine when we have the full effects of a super el nino and suffer water restrictions and possibly threats of our own "day zero" etc. and yet the trend continues - which it will.
