The Rugby Thread - Part Deux

Hey Josh, my name is Josh and this next to me is Josh ....

I see Rennie is defo chucking some of the 1st team players in now, doing this at his peril.

What happened to Akker VDM ?
“We're going to go as strong as we can, barring the Springboks that's not available and Akker van der Merwe, who's injured, and Sebastian de Klerk that's injured.”

It's a week out from the 1st test, they should be fine.

Was at work today and heard sirens, looked out the window and saw two busses with All Blacks plastered all over them.

Next thing I know 40+ All Blacks are walking past my office so went out and got some autographs, seem like a really lekker bunch of guys laughing and messing around. Damn those are some big human beings.

They are doing some signing thing at Fourways crossing tomorrow at 10.30 for anyone who is interested.

No Cheswill Jooste. I thought he may have been injured but not mentioned in this statement
However, Ackermann lamented the unavailability of some of his X-factor players like Junior Springbok Cheswill Jooste, who he feels would’ve been perfect for this clash.

“Cheswill came back from the Junior World Championship and we gave him two weeks off to recover. Then he only had two weeks in which to prepare – of which one he was very sick. So when he returned on Monday, I spoke to the medical team and the feeling was not to risk him because he hadn’t done any speed and contact work in three weeks.”

Dick move. Let the guys play who was picked for the match day squad. You cant go and replace players who have already been named in a match day squad. If it happened before the match day squad was announced, no problem.
I think it's more divine intervention from the big boss ( Rassie )

Let's be honest, they probs werent going to play for the Boks v the AB's unless something terrible happened to the players in front of them.

Releasing them also shows you that Rassie already has a Bok team on paper.

I would have liked to see more Bokke playing for their unions. Would have made the games more competative. Yes, there is the risk of injury.
Yip. Could have done away with the Argentina test and let players rather run out for their respective franchises.

Rassie could have pulled a Rassie move and had Lood play for the Sharks as an 'on loan' player. Lood and Eben starting for the Sharks, Thomas at tighthead, would have given that tight 5 the juice they were missing.

Siya, Sacha, Cobus could have got minutes playing for the Stormers.

Louw and Grobbies haven’t been that great this season, I understand why they have been released. Also not a bad time to be released and have a go at them and study what they do.

They both had decent run outs against Tina though... particularly Grobbies... thought he was very good...
But look who is infront of him, Marx, Wessels just to name a few. Louw hasn’t been that great ever since his injury I’m afraid he hasn’t recovered fully from that

Sacha is too much of an injury risk.... but at the same time could have won that game.
