The Rugby Thread - Part Deux

The US game is a friendly exhibition to promote the game in the states. The test series is 3 matches in SA.

No, shut up, you wrong, the series is 3 games. Don't care what anybody says, media or even WR etc etc. You wrong, the series is 3 matches and the 4th is a friendly exhibition they gaslighting ppl with to try drum up numbers :P

Are you arguing with yourself?

It's confirmed and definitely a 4 match series.

And yes, it's irritating that the 4th is on neutral ground.

Interesting match day 23!!! Very interesting...

Their best possible backline but high risk selecting Cam, Will and Dmac, all of whom have had their niggles so far on tour. Hence Rennie forced into 5/3 split.

3 locks starting but none on the bench is also high risk, Segner and Lakai on in the last 20 minutes to blitzkrieg the Boks with high tempo, high turnover footy on a fast track that is Ellis park..

No spots for Darry, Patrick and Rieko is quite surprising. 2nd test no doubt...

Cracking game loading. It's going to be quite warm and dry, perfect weather for running rugby...

Their backline is like glass to be honest, playing them is a big gamble.

They think they saw a soft spot with our locking department, which has some truth to it.

Scrum will be going backwards so they can have 5 locks if they want, want change a thing.

No, we are not...

Rennie actually gambling with this 23, particularly with Dmac, Cam and Will, and no lock on the bench. Also leaving out arguably his best 2 locks in Patrick and Darry. Fabian Holland has also just returned from an injury layoff... Preston covering 9 is a significant step down from Cam. Cam off early would be a major blow...

Yes, if Lood and Eben were firing on all cylinders, I wouldn't be at all worried.

Lood is a lineout weapon of note. Better than RG.

Lood's rugby IQ is off the charts. I would love to see him in the match day 23.

But likely starters, Eben, Ruan and PSDT gives us enough options and lineout threats.

But ideally Eben, Lood and PSDT with RG and/or Ruan on the bench.

Actually when all our locks are fit and firing it's a selection headache of note...

Their back line is going to be bombed with up and unders I reckon.

Our back line is much better than theirs under the a highball.

I still think we have much better ball fetchers and turnover kings.

I won't say we are f**ked as we have quality in our team. I don't know the All Black players well enough as in Sandman's and DarkStarMonday's comments on their players but reading through those names, Rennie has argueably picked a very strong team. I mean their backline definately have star power, together with Savea and their strongest front 3 selection. That team means business.
