Figured this needs an update.
I received the laptop this morning with screws missing and the wi-fi not working.
I just spent and hour and even more money on the phone with the Lenovo helpdesk at Partserve to confirm that the wi-fi is in fact broken. Evetech are however not in the office currently but I did email them first thing this morning, obviously I did not get a reply.
When they can't be bothered to turn in some screws, you can imagine what else was improperly reassembled.
I also found out that they never even assessed my warranty query. And that the whole situation regarding that was incorrectly communicated to me. I never asked about liquid damage well because there was no damage, I asked about a fan under load, this was never even inspected, nevermind causality between this and a spill like the warranty would require.
What's more and no one told me this until the Lenovo help desk today, they quoted to fix the spill and that would reinstate the warranty. How is this not explained to me. It even makes sense and abides more by the terms of the contract than what was communicated to me.
Ideally Partserve can send someone to me to fix the computer, but can't imagine that'll ever actually happen. Evetech will do nothing, so I'll have to hire a 3rd party non-warranty repairer and pay myself to fix the wi-fi.
