Very interesting what they picked up and analyzed.

Marcom Marx and Ox come on and the first thing the ref tells them is not to walk around and not to move their head during the scrum set and not to play games.

Now tell me why would a Ref that is supposed to be completely impartial start and talk about not playing games, don't shift, don't walk around to a specific front row but let all the scrum collapses that happened go and not award a single one.

I don't like it that World Rugby or Coaches can have that kind of influence on officials. Angus came into that game not impartial but with a preconceived notion that the Springboks front rowers walk around. I get why Rassie was so angry.

If I remember correctly he penalized Ox once as well for moving his head.
 
Angus/Rennie definitely found a way to depower our scrum, via the media and direct contact with World Rugby.

The tactic backfired to some extent IE we still won the match...

The Georgian ref, Nika Amashukeli, comes from a country with a scrummaging culture. I don't think he'll be easily influenced or conned.

In addition to that he's going to be officiating in front of 95 000 rabid South African fans... that alone should help us garner our fair share of the 50/50s...

Tough assignment for him, in all honesty.

The ref and how he interprets the breakdowns and scrums will likely have a fundamental bearing on the outcome of the test.

Yeah hopefully. On the Breakdown on Sky Sport NZ they spoke about it having the rub of the green in the first test match and if South Africa converted all of their opportunities the All blacks might have lost but SA didn't and they were good to make sure they win comfortably.

When I think URC we never get the rub of the green when our teams tour. How can a foreign team come to SA and get the rub of the green to such an extent that their own pundits mention it? Doesn't seem right. I be you if we played in NZL we would have gotten nothing. So my question is how does it happen?

Jordie also complaining about the laws.

Our fullback or whoever’s in the backfield, it’s not his job to get it. It’s in that zone where they want to make it messy and get scraps.


“Unfortunately, the laws of the game at the moment don’t help a receiving team. You’ve got to get up and contest; you can’t stand around the area or protect your catcher. It turns into a bit of a lottery.


“We’ve got plans and ways around that in terms of trying to win as many of those as possible. We’ve practised it a lot. Trust me, it’s a lot harder than it probably looks on the telly.


“Hopefully we can win a few more on Saturday, because that’s what’s coming.”

He was pretty much one eyed against the useless Sharks....
Didn't impress me. Possibly even kakker than Carly....
