The Joker has become iconic in terms of villains.

I'm referring more to the comic book version as there are several movie versions, though if you want to comment on those go ahead.

The Joker in the comics is very smart, one of the top IQs in the DC universe in fact, which is one of the aspects that makes him so dangerous.

Definitely the Joker. Followed by Lex Luthor imo. Almost any classic Batman villain outside of Joker too really.

Marvel villains are nowhere near as good or iconic, but on that side I'd say Dr Doom and maybe Green Goblin.
 
Yes, I would have to agree with you. The Joker stands head and shoulders above the rest. I only really have ever read DC and Marvel comics so I keep my decision in the field of those 2 brands.

Magneto has to be up there on the Marvel side.

Complex, almost sympathetic backstory and he is extremely intelligent as well, often capable of even manipulating Charles Xavier.

Can't comment on comic books because all I know about Batman and Joker comes from games and childhood cartoons, but Batman in general has the best villains of any character overall. Joker is the best.

One of the best and most psychotic yes, not the most powerful tho.

But yes he literally cuts his face off to change his identity just to play a trick on the Batman and the crew.

PS: he staples his face back on for shits and giggles.

Speaking of.... I purchased Arkham Knight for PS4 intending to start with that one, but decided instead to start from the beginning with the two PS3 games first, so bought the PS4 upgrades of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Can't wait to start. Joker being a key part should make for some good storytelling and gaming.

Played them all again recently. One of the best Jokers of all time imo. Voiced by Mark Hamill.

Technically there are 4 games though with Arkham Origins even if it was made by a different studio. That one was voiced by Troy Baker but he was not nearly as good and his laugh sounded very forced.

Yeah Oigins is there and I played it, its not bad but nowhere near as good as the other three.

You're in for a treat.

I absolutely killed Asylum with two or three runs and 100% , achievements. Tempted to replay City but my last replay failed but that was just prior to Knight and I think "too soon" post play but its been a few years now.
