The Kempton Park Serial Killer thread

The killer probably left town already.

Wasn't the Station Strangler released recently? 🤔

If it is an active serial killer, there is a good chance that they are still in the area.

The study of serial killers indicates that they tend to stay close to, or within their ''hunting grounds'' and they keep up to date with local coverage. Ego and narcissism are a big part for many of them and seeing their ''work'' in the news feeds into whatever is driving them.

The body found in Rhodesfield is interesting or not related as that as the opposite side of town from next to the R21 Olifantsfontein/Tembisa.

In that case the killer is somewhat sophisticated or at least have a car. It's not just some homeless guy dragging women into the bushes.

It is kinda dodgy areas for a woman, I would not jog there to begin with but have cycled there.

Another one that is doing the rounds on WhatsApp. Also apparently there's another woman that escaped.

I don't know if this is connected, probably not.

The serial killer scare might have just woken up the public to what 60 murders a day really looks like and it is finally putting pressure on police to solve some crimes.

Thats one twisted motive.

The public is aware. They're the ones burrying these bodies. What the public may not be aware of is how these cases are handled by authorities.

There's not much difference. The killer can knock you off the bike with a well-aimed throw of a brick.

The twisted thing is - if looking at the patterns seen in other, infamous serial killers - if a serial killer's activity increases it usually leads to their capture because they have become reckless or overconfident. It may be a sign that they are losing the fight against their impulsivity (like Dahmer did) and have become ''sloppy'', or ego has taken full control and they feel confident that they can taunt the public/law enforcement by killing with increased frequency and in a more brazen manner (Bundy).

*Obligatory ''If this is the work of a serial killer'' disclaimer.

Much easier to be ambushed on a bike as well...especially if you are clipped in.
Yeah that just doesn't happen in reality.
The most dangerous thing on a bike is being run over by a truck or women driver in a fortuner.

Happens very frequently. Lots of bikes get stolen that way.
Easiest thing in the world to just push someone sideways on a bike and down they go.....

Unfortunately I think when we are out there cycling or running most of us have headphones on/in and are tuned out to what's happening around us. Thinking about our run, what to cook when we get home, that report for the work etc and sadly we forget just how dodgy South Africa is at any time in any place.
