Amazon launches new thinner and more colourful Kindle e-book readers

Interesting comments on smaller devices like XTEINK's readers:
“It feels like a thicker phone that I don’t quite get,” he said. “We found that when people have been playing with these things that after a few minutes, they go back to the phone and start looking at their alerts,” he added, framing Amazon’s 6-inch Kindle as a smarter bet for those seeking distraction-free reading sessions.

I don't think they're too far off from what is mentioned later:
“At some point we will get to something more like a credit card that’s all display that you’ll be able to flex with your hand for a page turn,” he said. “We’ll get to something more organic, but it will take time.”

Also interesting to see them reintroducing physical page-turn buttons (in accessories).

The handheld page turner as well. Nice for people with disabilities and I guess some people want to eat chips and avoid getting grease on the screen when turning pages.

Both devices have been trimmed to a thickness of 6.8 millimetres, or about 0.27 inches.
The pricier model also adds the ability to change the screen’s colour temperature to warmer tones, which can be particularly useful when reading at night.
Nice.

They give away many free books as well. Nice.

Amazon are seldom first with a feature - when they implent it, it’s as perfect as you can get. They use metrics from hundreds of millions of devices to know what & when the user wants features.

And before they implement, the market isn’t established yet.
