So depending where you are it might be worth visting a certain Sportsman Warehouse. They have a neat free running assessment they do where they will make you walk and run on a treadmill which analyses everything for you and then gives you shoe recommendations.Hi guys, I’m looking for a bit of advice from the pros.
I tend to underpronate (supinate) when walking and running, and I also have high arches. Are there any of you who have similar foot mechanics, or perhaps know someone who does?
I’d be interested to hear which running shoes have worked well for you or them. I’ve asked AI for some recommendations to get me started, but I’d much rather hear about your real-world experiences and what’s actually worked for you!
Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA
The Saucony Ride 19 is currently R1999 at Takealot in certain colours and sizes (R200 sport shoe coupon is valid too
Was the Mazanzi one not for shoes? I interpreted it as sports gear but now i see it could of been South African sports stuff as in team stuffThere's a sport shoe coupon? Thought it was only for the SA team gear.
If you are in Johannesburg take a trip to Randburg runner. All there guys have been finding the right shoe for a foot for like 10 years. You won't get better advice than them in jhb.Hi guys, I’m looking for a bit of advice from the pros.

Recently got myself the ASICS GT-2000 15's. I'm not really a runner unless a skelm or dog is chasing me. But man these shoes are so comfy and bonus that I can take a comfortable jog as well. I am wearing them as my daily shoe now. Too bad running shoes are not really pretty shoes. They are so bouncy. No more soar heels for me. I'm also fairly flat footed and these seem to work well for that.

I have nothing else to compare it to as it is my first splurge on good shoes. They are so bouncy, especially when I go for a short run or jog. SUPER comfy. They feel a bit firmer when I walk, but resist all the impact when I run that I have to double check I am still on the groundThat looks pretty enough to me. Heard these were a major upgrade to the line. How's the cushion and feel? Very soft?
Asics shoes majority of the time are not the best looking and most look similar since they use the same logo design but their shoes are decent. I also find their foam breaks in after about 50km and gets more comfy.Recently got myself the ASICS GT-2000 15's Size 12's (usually go for a 13). For context I am a fairly tall and naturally handsome guy. So most shoes hurt me.

All running shoes have become expensive. You are extremely lucky if you get anything good at sale prices just under R2000. Benchmark has moves up to mid R2k now.New Balance and Asics shoes have become so expensive... Like NB 1080 40% off at Bash and still R2300
I took a gamble... Adidas had EVO SL's for R1349.10... Got them yesterday but i had to get them for that price in a 13.5 i am a 12 to 12.5... Their sizing chart said in terms of CM is was the same as my normal shoes...All running shoes have become expensive. You are extremely lucky if you get anything good at sale prices just under R2000. Shoes were HUGE so had to return them![]()
Yea i am finding tops to be very inconsistent as well. I have added quite a lot of muscles into my chest and shoulders so my shirts are a little short at the moment...That sucks.
I've been trying out some big brand running shirts. Ordered a L Nike Miler shirt from Takealot. It's slightly too big (or has a weird cut for the armpits), but in the time it took to arrive they sold out in the medium and large sizes. No use in returning it.
Yip and the shorts we have here are either very expensive, or ugly as hell.Yea i am finding tops to be very inconsistent as well. I have added quite a lot of muscles into my chest and shoulders so my shirts are a little short at the moment...
The price of gym clothing also is crazy... To get black 5 inch shorts in my size also has been a very difficult task and the ones i do find are like R650...
You watch these YT reviews and they always like "you can pickup these easy on special for $60" meanwhile the shoes here are like R3000![]()
