Israeli Elections

Ah, I see you haven't given up the ghost and are still as outraged as ever at Jews existing.
I'm not sure if it's/they/them/he/her's constant contamination of threads with bullsh*t copy pasting of clueless social warrior posts or it's Greta's completely obsessive/useless anti Israel/Netanyahu ( i.e Jew) stance which is is more annnoying....

Tough choice, but I'd say a draw as both of their blind bigotry and lack of self awareness makes them both look equally stupid.

Kinda quiet in here from the usual suspects. I even took certain people from my ignore list to see all the arguments but it appears there are none when faced with facts and their usual hateful posts will make them look kind of stupid (looking at you Vorrie).

I can only assume that we are all agreed that Israel is in fact a democracy and there is no Apartheid as Israeli Arabs flocked to the polls beside their Jewish neighbours.

Isn't it nice when we all get on?

@Suspect99

You find it funny? Care to explain?

was listening to the Hebrew News earlier people already saying Likud and Bibi will take it, despite everything.
Best outcome IMO, continue until Iranian Regime is toppled, nuclear ambitions laid waste and extinguished it's ring of fire. Nearly there...If not permanently, then at least for the next few generations...
No stopping this time, Let them go all go meet their goats ( aka virgins) .

Arab parties could hold key as Netanyahu and Eisenkot set to fall short of victory

With results still trickling in, it currently appears that Israel's veteran Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has done better than was widely predicted with his Likud emerging as the largest single party.

His existing bloc with ultra-nationalist and ultra-Orthodox Jewish parties appear to be just short of a 61-seat majority in the 120-seat parliament. However, analysts caution that this is subject to change because the early count was skewed towards areas known to have strong right-wing support.

A dramatic deadlock had been widely forecast as Israelis surged to the polls – with turnout reaching more than 77%.

In Israel's fragmented political system, the signs are that Netanyahu's main rival, the former army chief Gadi Eisenkot, would struggle to command a parliamentary majority without parties led by Israel's Arab minority. According to partial results, they have equalled or gained on their previous record number of seats.

On the campaign trail, most Jewish opposition parties pledged not to work with Arab-majority lists, citing a lack of shared values.

However, Israel's Arab-led parties could emerge as kingmakers if others were prepared to join forces with them. In this election, Arab Israelis – who often identify as Palestinian citizens of Israel and represent one-fifth of the population – appeared to turn out in unprecedented numbers.

Arab party says talks with both blocs under way about forming coalition

One of the big winners from the election is set to be the Arab party Ra'am, which is projected to win seven seats in the Knesset.

Speaking to Israel's Channel 12 broadcaster, the party's leader, Mansour Abbas, has suggested both sides of the political divide have contacted Ra'am about forming a coalition.

"Everyone is speaking with us, not just from the 'change bloc,'" he said, in quotes shared by the Times of Israel.

Abbas reportedly signalled a willingness to join a coalition led by Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot, but admitted that "currently there aren't numbers for a government".

No Israeli political party will go into coalition with the Arab parties. It would represent their political death. I see that once again the pollsters were horribly wrong again. Netenyahu's political death has been forecast many times but he always seem to outperform the polls. A very canny and experienced political operator.

Does St Greta the Great know?

You'd imagine that, like here, she would be pretty embarrassed that everything she bases her personality on has been blown out of the water in the last day or two.

I guess enjoy the peace for now, they'll be back to their prejudice, bigotry and hating again tomorrow.

And face his corruption trial? You know the one he has tried every Zuma style excuse to get out of?
The trial that has been ongoing since 2020, through pandemics and wars?
The trial that Netanyahu himself has given testimony in 98 seperate hearings?
Your attempt at conflating him with Zuma is nonsensical and wrong.

Tell us all again how Isreal is not an apartheid state if the mere thought of allying with an arab party is considered to be a path to political death?

Maybe you could tell is why that makes it an apartheid state?
