The HasbaraBots on here started early...
Do Arabs have a seperate chamber in Israel with executive power soley at the discretion of a Jewish-only assembly?
EDIT: To pick apart the post -
Apartheid South Africa's Tricameral Parliament was 42% colored & Indian in 1983, after the regime allowed 2.8 million colored & 850,000 Indian citizens to vote (while excluding 22.7 million black South Africans). Colored representatives even held ministerial positions, but without portfolios (i.e. no real power).
The Tricameral Parliament very specifically excluded Coloured and Indians from executive decision-making. Ultimate political power remained at the hands of the whites-only National Assembly. Blacks were completely excluded.
Why this comparison is disingenuous - There is Arab representation in the Knesset. Arab politicians can participate in the government and its decision-making. Indeed, in the past they have formed part of a coalition government. None of this was possible for black, Indian or Coloured representatives during apartheid.
This is just like Israel allowing 2 million Palestinian citizens to vote while excluding 6 million in the occupied territory & 8 million in exile. The less than 15% of Israel's Knesset that is Arab are excluded from power (both Netanyahu & the opposition parties refuse to form a government with Arab parties).
Outright lie. The Arab Ra'am party formed part of the coalition government formed in 2021.
Ahmad Tibi, leader of the Arab Ta'al party, has been a member of the Knesset since 1999. He is pro-Palestinian and has been openly critical of Israeli policy. He was also the Deputy Speaker of the Knesset for 13-years. This would have been akin to a Mandela/Tambo/Luthuli figure being a member of the apartheid-era parliament while criticising it.
The logic in the X post is like saying the EFF is excluded from power because the ANC and the DA don't want to form a government with them.
As for the excluded Palestinian voters; are they Israeli citizens? The 2 million ''Palestinians'' that voted are Arab Israelis, in other words, Israeli citizens. Why would you allow non-citizens to vote?
Apartheid South Africa had black policemen, soldiers, engineers, doctors, & professors whom they loved to show in propaganda videos to claim "we're a cosmopolitan society". But that was only a fig leaf to hide the disenfranchisement of the overwhelming majority of blacks.
I mean, this one is so simple. Black people were denied the right to vote. As is already abundantly clear, Arab Israelis can vote, obtain representation in the Knesset and form a part of the government.
Seriously. There are many things to criticise Israel over, but outright lying about things is not the way to go.
