    Which is your favourite lens?

I'm sure most multiple lens owners have a favourite lens amongst their collection. Mine is the uber cheap (build and price) Canon 50mm f/1.8 simply because of its speed and image quality.

    Lens selection

I'm looking for some alternatives for lens selection for a Nikon body. I do landscapes, a bit of macro and some zoom shots (cricket/rugby/birds/wildlife). I'm thinking: Sigma 10-20 F4-5.6 for landscapes, wide shots Nikkor Micro 105 F2.8 VR for macro and portrait Nikkor 70-300 F4.5-5.6...

    Which lens?

I have a Canon 450D for which I want to buy a lens for wildlife photography (mainly). I currently have two options available to me: Canon EF 70 - 300 mm f 4.0 - 5.6 IS USM STABILISER (R7000) or Canon EF 70 - 200 mm f 4.0 L USM (Official SA dealer) (R7700) and then later adding the Canon...

    Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS

I just came across this beauty. I think this will be my first lens that I will get after I get the dSLR. Price is not too bad. R4899 at sacamera.co.za. Linky It's for Canon dSLRs. Thoughts? I think this will be in direct competition with the new Canon EFS 18-200mm F3.5-5.6 IS , which is R7300.

The Canon EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens thread

I couldn't resist :) I thought initially that it is pretty compact - didn't look much different from the kit lens, until I saw it attached to what looks like a 40D body, as seen on the second page of dpreview's preview. I'm a little disappointed that it's not USM - I really like full time...

    Canon lenses

have you considered the canon 450d? the kit 18-55mm IS lens is very sharp (i checked it out for myself) for telephoto: canon also make the excellent "Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM" i used this lens once and was amazed by the sharpness throughout the entire range and f/stops there was no...

    New lens vs G9

Since I've recently been offered a fair chunk of change to lure me back into a field I'm not too fond of (web design but fortunately its a once off job) I figured I'd treat myself to either a G9 or a new lens. I've currently got the following lenses: Canon 18-55mm EF-S f/3.5-5.6 - kit lens...

    Photography question

Calling Bwana and everyone else who knows something about photography... I have a great prosumer camera with 12 optical zoom, 6Mp, etc. etc. It does great shots - zoom, macro, emulates various ISO ratings, etc. I was wondering if there was a way to get a macro shot without actually getting...
