    Sound card for PC

    Does having a dedicated sound card help that much ? I have the logitech z680's. Had them for 10 years now :) but i noticed my sound card on my mobo (DX58 smack over) doesnt seem to be the best. So was just wondering if its really worth 1k to get a dedicated sound card ?
