Hi,

I need a bit of help please..

My Z5500's control pod is dead, the subwoofer unit does receive power so the fuse is not dead even though i have replaced it as well..

System is not under warantee anymore either.

Took the system to two audio repair shops, none of them could have fixed the problem.
Buying a bypass cable is out of the question, i need the controlpod for the optical in function and multi inputs.

I have googled and it appears one of the IC chips blew, anybody in capetown that will be able to replace it for me? Not 100% sure if its the problem, but it appears like it

Thanks

I have the same speaker system
Have you emailed logiteck to see if they will send you a chip ??
be interested to know this for future reference if i have the same problem for now mine works fine and kicks a$$

You mean... this chip? :D

I just bought stuff from these people today (Dremel is on its way!!), could've piggu backed on my order. But they do free shipping so its not really a big deal. If you are willing to buy a chip, I'll try solder it for you. I have done micro IC's before (elec engineering).

Edit: just double check the number on the IC in your pod before ordering of course :)

If you are inside warranty Logitech will send you a replacement pod. Otherwise you need to source the chip yourself

It could be that chip, im not sure hey. Logitech could not help me.
I will be getting a refund from the guy where i bought the system from this weekend, so might not need to order the chip.
