My PS3's firmware is sitting at version 1.50 :)
The thing is I'm loathing to update the firmware as I'll loose out
in the homebrew scene. Eg: emulators of other consoles on the PS3 etc
Similar to the PSP. (Tons of homebrew for it)

What do your'll suggest? Update or not

Here's my suggestion: keep the Triple as a blu ray player, and get a 360 for games. ;)

Being a 360 fanboy troll rules.

"lose out" - not "loose out".
360'ers are less likely to make that error...

:D

Well I was not aware that you couldn't use homebrew after 1.50. If this is true and you actually use the homebrew stuff then obviously don't update.

You can't play online without updating though so it really does depend on what you use it for...

True, but its easier to run homebrew on the earlier versions. I use homebrew alot on the PSP, and they roughly use the same interface/architecture.

The firmware checks on the games are easliy bypassed. Use my PC for online local games :)
Guess I'll just wait and see
Get a life Blue Collar

See it depends on what type of homebrew it is...

If you are just another cheap ass pirate who thinks it's cool to steal from developers then you should be shot.

However if you are actually running true home brew app's then don't upgrade.

I am not 100% sure why you are asking though.

yes BlueCollar, stop wasting time on the forums and go and play one of the hundreds of great games you can get for the 360... no time for this homebrew stuff ;)

GavinMannion: Its much cheaper to buy the original games then download a 20GB game lol
I use the homebrew for the emulation of the old console games and stuff like that :)
Thanks thou

Can you run homebrew on the PS3 yet? I got the impression you wouldn't have to worry about that if you could just run Linux on it?
