I climbed onto the roofs of both houses. I think i'm quite fortunate in that there's a semi-clear LOS. There may be the odd palm tree leaf in the way, perhaps.
I'm thinking to give this a go.

So what I'm planning now, is to get two 14dbi Panel antennas and two LinkSys routers (as per the above company's recommendation).
I'm still a bit unsure as to how everything will work in the end. Apparently one of the two Linksys routers needs to function as a client, rather than an AP. A bit dissapointing, as it would have been nice to have two wireless clouds on each side. From my understanding, when the Linksys acts as a client, other wireless devices cant connect wirelessly to it. Only through it's LAN points.
This would however still be acceptable. I had a look on the web, on how to configure the Linksys as a client (client-mode), and it all seems to be do-able. In essence all the devices on the linksys acting as the client, will be on their own subnet. (NATted) and the machines on the other Linksys AP will be on their own subnet. Therefor, machines on the 'master' network would have to hop on the client-mode router, before reaching the machines on that network.
This again would be fine, i think....
I do have a question though. Let's say Router A (acting as an Access Point) has a machine with an ADSL modem, where the modem acts as a bridge.
Would the machines that are on Router B (acting as a client) be able to do a PPPoE connection? Obviously machines on Router A's network are able to do this.
Then finally one more question. Would I be able to switch the roles of the two routers. Is it irrelevant which router is the AP and which is the client? I would prefer if the router that is acting as an AP NOT be on the network with the PC that has the ADSL modem. In other words the above scenario reversed.
Any feedback regarding this matter would be appreciated!
