I get about 12 kms per litre. About 98% of my driving is urban. Is this normal?

do you guys have cars that measure this?

how would i find out far i get

put in a L and drive till my car stops or what ?

The onboard computer tells you your consumption.

On my car it shows the current consumption, and total average consumption since the last reset.

It's usually quoted in l/100km, I have no idea why people use the retarded notation of km/l.

a better measure would be to fill up your car, drive 100km then fill it up again and measure how much you put in.

the normal way is to take you tank size and then the amount of km you can do on that tank. ie

tank 40l
distance covered 600km

and then 40/6 = 6.666666666

When I fill up my car, I reset the distance-measure-thingy on the dash. Next time I fill up, I take the number of km's driven divided by the litres of fuel put in, to get the km/L.

If I accelerate slowly and don't drive faster than 120km/h, I get around 22km/L with my 0.6L ZZR.

Nha its an estimate....drive till tank says "EMPTY" fill up, zero kilo counter.....drive till tank says "EMPTY" again.....check kilos driven, check litres put in

kilos driven
----------- = kilos/litre
Litres put in

Lol :p

I do what Devill does, since as a student my tank is hardly, if ever, full. lol

I am of the old school, grew up with miles per gallon, l/100km tells me nothing.
As long my car gets 28m/g it's OK because it corresponds to 10l/100km.:D:D

well my 1.6 does 11L/100k's but that is with mostly 6500RPM before changing.. :P

if i drive like a normal person its about 8L/100Km on the reading thing.

though my 1.6 is 88kw :P

My Uno 1.1 gets uses 7.4l/100km in town

My 1.6 Bantam gets around 9.8l/100km in town

My mothers 1.4 Citroen C3 diesel gets 5.4l/100km according to her onboard computer

What car do you have? My stock Opel Kadett 160is pushes 77kw.
