1 CPU destroys 2 pc's

ok so I buy a new cpu (2.4 core2due) today and put it in my motherbord and suddenly the pc doesn't want to start up , I fidle a little but nothing so I try the old cpu and nothing! so I try them both on another bord and again nothing! And the old cpu and both motherboards worked today untill the cpu! AND MY DAMN GRAPHICSCARD , GUESS WHAT . YEAH DOESN'T WOSK EITHER! so now I've got nothing.

Was the second motherboard in a different box, i.e. other power supply?
 
Does the 2nd motherboard work at all, if you don't use the 2 "faulty" one? Or do you only have 2 cpu's? Weird that the graphics card is also not working now.
 
both motherboards worked perfectly and the 2nd board was in another pc with another cpu and that was working fine too. And I alsn don't understand that the graphics card isn't working.
 
the chances of a cpu destroying a motherboard are next very slim if not outright impossible. Check C2d support as suggested above and remove Cmos battery to reset bios then try again
 
I agree with ShockG. Reset the Bios and try the boards with the old CPU's. Either it's not Core 2 compatible or it's in the wrong way round :D

I think C2D's only fit one way, if you try to fit it incorrectly and still close the ZIF lock I think you might royaly stuff it up :o
 
Unless you accidentally shorted the mobo while putting in the chip (highly unlikely twice) its almost impossible for the CPU to have done that much damage. You biggest worry in that circumstance is damaging the CPU, not the other way around...

i mean those pings look near impossible to bust :)

Lol it was just a suggestion. He should really check whether he bent some...or maybe got thermal paste on the contact points of the CPU :D
Don't underestimate the inexperienced ;)

all im saying is if he did somehow manage this he should not touch a pc again lol

The last time I checked, all processors can only fit in one way round. It's to make sure "moegoes' don't put it in the wrong way round. But it is easy to see if it was put in wrong, because the clamps won't close, the heatsink won't fit, etc.

The easiest thing to go wrong in the assembly stage of a computer is a build-up of static electricity in your body and then the discharge between yourself and the computer (really bad for your pc).
 
It is near impossible to put the CPU in the wrong way. That was a j/k.
If anyone does manage to get it right, they MUST NOT BE ALLOWED NEAR PC's.
 
Ok I know now what happend and all of you were right , it wasn't the cpu. Ok 2 of my LGA pins were ben't and my power supply was faulty. Glad that all the hardware still works exept the board with the bent pins (duh). Ok so I'm using a friends board until I buy another one. O yeah and this cpu is great (intel e4600 2.4 Ghz core2 due , 800mhz fsb , 2 Mb L2 , REALLY FAST:))

You bent your pins? Oh my. Let's start a petition against people who shouldn't open computer cases....
