Does anyone know a good service provider that can supply account for the period of one month only? I recently brutally murdered my cap with telkom, and have to wait until the beginning of the next month until it respawns.

What i need is a 3 or 5 GB account that is well priced, and doesnt have any sort of contract attached as I just want it for one or 2 months.

Thanks

If you signup with OpenWeb you will be invoiced on a monthly basis. If you don't want the account for a 2nd month, simply don't pay for it :)

Does Cybersmart allow accounts for one month because they seem to be the cheapest ? Can anyone comment on there speed as I have a gamco account and its as slow as ****.

Why not purchase prepaid from WA. Costs R70 per gig and carries forward until used up.

hmm Cause I want 3 - 5 GB, 70rand per gig is maybe a little pricy. Look at cybersmart, 125 for 3 GB. Anyone able to say wether one month accounts work with cybersmart?

Well, after having a Gamco account for about 3 hours ( thanks to my kind boss, thx anyways ) I am already hating it. It is absolute ****. Pages not loading, and slow when they do, while my telkom account NEVER did this, never thought I would actually say this, but telkom isnt the worst.

take a look at the new offerings from ODS
http://www.ods.co.za/Services/connectivity_adsl.asp
They resell SAIX accounts (good speed) and have a topup facility.

Be careful of Cybersmart. Their terms and conditions state that they must be your only ISP. You have to give one months notice of cancelling. They are also strict about account abuse - if you go over the 3 Gigs they will carry that usage over to next month. Which is why their accounts are so cheap. On Telkom 3 Gig account you can easily download 5 Gigs with no penalties, but Cybersmart you ARE restricted to your 3 Gigs.

on the plus Cybersmart is SAIX so it will have reasonable speeds and latency. Ultimately you get exactly what you pay for with Cybersmart.

Check out http://www.hellkom.co.za/ for more ISPs.

hope this was helpful

Thanks a lot, ODS looks pretty good and im considering getting that. I had a look at Imaginet Internet, and they have a nice package ADSL Express 3. Anyone know what they are like. Cause at the moment its ODS or Imaginet !

Give the man the info he wants! LOL!

I have a Cybersmart ADSL account for R125 and I get excelent speeds from my 384Kbps line. Use it for online gaming and all! :D

If you don't pay your account, won't you like be in OpenWeb's little black book? I wouldn't like it if someone just stops paying...its just courtesy?;)

The way our billing system works at the moment, you will not be added to a little black book. It would be courtesy to just drop us an email and ask us to remove your account.

If you do it repetitively and it begins to cost us money, you may be tagged as a fraudulent user (although this has, to date, never happened).

Imaginet also looks reasonable but don't forget to add 14% to their prices.

That's understandable.;)
