10.6.6 has landed.

Did you repair permissions on the drive?Let me guess - mweb? I saw some speculation that this was due to peering (iirc akamai is hosted on IS).

No, how do I do that?

I had a whole lot of updates that ran at the same time and were successful.

I am actually so over apples updates, can't even download the files manually without them crashing.

wasting my ****ing bandwidth

Eventually I just used a iGetter and downloaded the update off the web.

I download all my Apple updates from their site. Software Update needs some attention from Apple, just feels cumbersome.

Yeah that's what I am doing now. Updater really stinks.

Select the drive in Disk Utility and hit repair permissions. Alternatively install AppleJack. Actually just install Applejack anyway so you have it if you need it. ;)

Cumbersome? I use it fairly regularly and it couldn't be simpler.

It's a great idea esp if you have multiple macs or want to archive the updates for future use.

My system is notably slower since the update and the app store just hangs when I click on an item (wanted to try the free twitter app). I also had to re-index spotlight for the first time since having my mbpro which I thought was rather odd. Can't say I'm terribly impressed..

hmmm i'll run this once i get home and see what all the fuss is about re the store
